Universe

Universe is the DataMind OS page for the DataMind products and the tools that connect to your data. Use it to open a product, ask Ask AI a question, play DataMind FM, get DataMind Oda or find the connection details for a tool.

Open Universe

  1. In the sidebar, click Universe.
  2. If you do not see it, click More at the bottom of the navigation and choose Universe.

The page header reads Universe and "DataMind products, and the tools that connect to your data." Below it are two blocks, from top to bottom: DataMind ("The DataMind family, built to work together.") with four product cards, and Integrations with the tiles for the tools that connect to your data. On very wide screens the cards sit in one row. On medium screens they sit in two columns, and on narrow screens one under another.

For the rest of the sidebar, see Find your way around.

Use a DataMind product card

Each card opens one DataMind product, in this order:

CardWhat the card saysButtons
DataMind Oda"Your AI work agent on Windows and in Excel. It works with your Minds, data and files."Download for Windows and Download Oda for Excel. See Get DataMind Oda from Universe.
DataMind Platform"Models, usage and keys for your company's AI."Open DataMind Platform
DataMind Docs"Guides for every DataMind product, and answers that cite their sources."Open DataMind Docs and Ask AI
DataMind FM"Lo-fi and cinematic beats for deep data work. Live, around the clock."Play or stop, datamind.fm, and Watch on YouTube when a video is available. See Listen to DataMind FM.

The DataMind Platform card lists Models ("The models your company can use."), Usage ("Tokens and spend across your company.") and Keys ("API keys for your company's AI.").

The DataMind Docs card lists Guides ("Every DataMind product, step by step."), Ask AI ("Ask in plain language, right here.") and Sources ("Answers link to the pages behind them.").

Open DataMind Docs, Open DataMind Platform, datamind.fm and Watch on YouTube open in a new browser tab. Your DataMind OS tab stays open.

The tile at the top left of a card moves while that product is busy: the DataMind FM tile while the station plays, and the DataMind Docs tile while Ask AI writes an answer. When an answer arrives while the Ask AI panel is minimised, the DataMind Docs card shows a notification, and it clears when the panel opens. The other tiles stay still.

What follows you to every page

Two parts of Universe stay with you after you leave the page. Both appear in the sidebar dock, above your account menu.

Find an integration

The Integrations block shows nine tiles: Claude Desktop, DataGrip, iOS Devices, Android Devices, Power BI, Excel, DBeaver, DbVisualizer and QStudio.

  1. Open Universe and scroll to Integrations.
  2. Type in the Search integrations... box. The search checks tile names and descriptions and ignores capital letters.
  3. Click a tile to read its Documentation in the side panel on the right.
  4. To use a tool, click the button at the bottom of its tile instead. It does the tile's own job: Download, Configuration, Copy String or Documentation. Power BI has two buttons, Native and ODBC.
  5. Click Connection Settings to see the Host, Port, Email and JDBC Connection String for your tools.
  6. Close the side panel with the close button in its header, or click the same tile or Connection Settings again.

Universe shows one side panel at a time. Opening another integration's Documentation or Connection Settings switches the panel to that integration.

The side panel opens at 45% of the page width. Drag its edge to resize it between 30% and 60%. Universe has no other settings.

For what each tile gives you, see Integrations and Connection settings.

Questions, answered

Do I need a special permission to open Universe?

No. Every signed-in user can open Universe and sees all four product cards. Only the DataMind Oda downloads depend on your permissions.

I cannot find Universe in the sidebar. Where is it?

Universe is in the last group of the sidebar, with Documentation and BI. On a short screen, items that do not fit move into More at the bottom of the navigation. Click More and choose Universe.

Does my old Integrations bookmark still work?

Yes. The old address opens Universe, where the integration tiles now are.

What is the difference between Open DataMind Docs and Ask AI?

Open DataMind Docs opens the documentation site in a new browser tab. Ask AI opens a panel inside DataMind OS, where you ask in plain language and get answers that link to the pages behind them.

Why does the DataMind Docs card show a notification?

An Ask AI answer arrived while the panel was minimised. Click Ask AI to read it, and the notification clears.

Can I use Universe on my phone?

No. On a phone, DataMind OS opens Minds instead. Use a computer or a tablet with a window at least 768 pixels wide.

My search in Integrations shows nothing. What do I do?

The search checks tile names and descriptions. If nothing matches, the page shows No integrations found. Click Reset filters to clear the search.

Why did clicking a tile's button not open its documentation?

The button at the bottom of a tile runs the tile's own action, such as a download or a copy. Click anywhere else on the tile to open its Documentation in the side panel.

How do I close the side panel?

Click the close button in the panel header, or click the same tile or Connection Settings again.

Why did the side panel switch to another tool?

Universe shows one side panel at a time. When you open another integration's Documentation or Connection Settings, the panel switches to that integration. To bring the first one back, click its tile or Connection Settings again.

Do the product links leave DataMind OS?

Yes. They open in a new browser tab, and your DataMind OS tab stays open.

What is DataMind Platform, and why is it on Universe?

The card describes DataMind Platform as models, usage and keys for your company's AI. Universe lists the DataMind products in one place, so you can open each one from here with Open DataMind Platform. For details, see DataMind Platform.
