DataMind FM is a live music station built into DataMind OS: "Lo-fi and cinematic beats for deep data work. Live, around the clock." Use it from the DataMind FM card on Universe, and keep it playing while you work on other pages.
The card shows the state of the station in three places: the badge next to the card title, the line under Now playing, and the listener count.
| You see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Live badge | The station is on air. |
| Off air badge | The station is not broadcasting live at the moment. |
| Offline badge | Your network cannot reach the station. |
| No badge | The card is still checking. |
| The track name | The track you are hearing. |
| Live under Now playing | No track name is known yet. |
| Connecting… | FM is starting. |
| Can't reach DataMind FM. Try again. | The stream failed or dropped. Click play to reconnect. |
| DataMind FM isn't reachable from this network. | The station cannot be reached and nothing is playing. |
Below the status line, the card shows N listening once 15 or more people listen, and a line in the form "Streaming since Aug 8, 2026 · N days non-stop". datamind.fm opens the station's website in a new tab. Watch on YouTube appears when the station reports a YouTube video and your network reaches the station.
The other panel in the dock is Ask AI. See Ask AI about DataMind.
On Universe, the card is the player. The mini player and the dock entry are hidden there.
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Volume | Sets the level on the DataMind FM volume slider, from 0 to 100 in steps of 1. | 80 |
| Mute | Mute DataMind FM silences FM. Unmute DataMind FM brings the sound back. | Unmuted |
| Visual | Pulse or Video, the two buttons in the Station visual group at the bottom left of the visual on the card. | Pulse |
DataMind OS remembers your volume, your visual and whether FM was playing, for this browser tab. Mute is not remembered. A new tab starts with FM stopped and the default settings.
If FM was playing before you reloaded the page, it does not start again by itself. On pages other than Universe, the sidebar dock shows DataMind FM with the subtitle Click to resume. To continue:
For messages from Universe, FM and Ask AI, see Troubleshooting Universe. For the page with the card, see Universe.
