Settings is where you set up DataMind Oda on this computer: your account, how chats start and look, the models and apps Oda may use, and the features that stay off until you turn them on. This page covers the panel itself: opening it, finding a page, and what each app shows.
The panel opens over your work and shows one page at a time, starting with General. To close it, choose Close at the top, click outside the panel, or press Escape.
When Oda runs inside another app, Settings can fill that app's frame instead of opening as a panel.
Type in Search settings to narrow the list to the pages that match. The search covers page names and each page's search words, so a related word often finds the right one when you cannot recall its name:
mcp finds Connectors.shortcuts finds Keyboard.update finds About.Working the search from the keyboard:
When nothing matches, the list reads No settings match.
The DataMind account page leads the list; the other pages sit in four groups. Which pages you see depends on the app you run.
| Page | Group | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| DataMind account | Leads the list | Desktop app |
| General | Preferences | All apps |
| Appearance | Preferences | Desktop app |
| Keyboard | Preferences | All apps |
| Models | Agent | All apps |
| Agent presets | Agent | All apps |
| Skills | Agent | Desktop app |
| Memory | Agent | Desktop app |
| Connectors | Connections | Desktop app and VS Code |
| Hooks | Connections | Desktop app |
| Developer | Advanced | All apps |
| About | Advanced | All apps |
In the browser, Oda shows only the pages marked All apps; the others appear in the desktop app (the Connectors page is also in the VS Code extension). Some pages also appear only while the feature behind them is available.
For what each area holds, see Settings sections and plugins.
A small pill sits beside the Settings control at the foot of the sidebar.
While no chat is open, Oda shows its first-run steps in the panel, one at a time.
Choose Settings at the foot of the sidebar, or press Ctrl , (⌘ , on macOS). The panel opens over your work, on the General page.
General. Choose any other page from the list on the left at any time.
Choose Close at the top, click outside the panel, or press Escape.
While a query is in the search field, the first Escape clears it; press Escape again to close the panel.
Type in Search settings. The search covers page names and each page's search words, so a related word often finds the right page: mcp finds Connectors, and version finds About. Press Enter to open the first match.
Two reasons. In the browser, Oda shows only the pages marked All apps above; the rest appear in the desktop app. And some pages appear only while the feature behind them is available.
It shows the app's connection to its server: Disconnected when the connection has dropped, Reconnecting while a retry runs, and Connected for a moment when it returns. Choose the pill in a warning state to try again; while the connection is well, it stays out of sight.
