The About page shows which build of DataMind Oda you are running and what is happening with updates. You find it in Settings, in the Advanced group; the Settings overview covers the panel itself. How an update reaches this computer is covered in Update DataMind Oda.
Version shows the build of DataMind Oda on this computer. The group appears only when the build carries a version string; a build assembled without one leaves it out.
The Updates group says what is happening with updates on this computer. Its text follows the current action, and its control changes with it:
While an action runs, the control is disabled so only one runs at a time, and clicking again during an action does not start a second one.
Check for updates runs a check right away. It appears while no update action needs you; when one does, that action's control shows in its place. On Windows, it is the only manual check.
Your company's DataMind server can require a minimum version of Oda. When the version on this computer is older, Oda shows Update required and offers Update now, without signing you out. The message is listed in Troubleshooting, and Update DataMind Oda walks through the update.
In the desktop app, the same update state shows at the bottom of the sidebar, beside the account row, and as a badge while the sidebar is collapsed.
The Development group appears only in an unpackaged development build of the desktop app, so an installed copy does not show it. It holds two commands:
The Version group shows a value only when the build carries one. Builds assembled without a version string leave the group out.
It describes what is happening with updates right now: a check in progress, a version being downloaded, a package ready to install, or a failure. When nothing is happening, it shows the idle line.
While Oda is checking, downloading, verifying or installing, the control is disabled so only one operation runs at a time. It returns when the action finishes, and a click during an action does not start a second one.
In the desktop app, it shows beside the account row at the bottom of the sidebar, and as a badge while the sidebar is collapsed.
While the connection to your server is down, the badge steps aside so the connection state can show. It returns when the connection is back, and an update that is installing keeps its badge throughout.
Reload page reloads the app's interface. Restart app and Host stops the Host and relaunches DataMind Oda with a new one, and it does not rebuild source files. Both appear only in an unpackaged development build.
It appears only in an unpackaged development build of the desktop app. An installed copy does not show it.
The update control belongs to the desktop app. In a browser, Oda updates together with its server.
