Every table in the console works in the same way, and it remembers how you set it up. This page covers the settings you control, what a table keeps between visits, and how unsaved work survives a refresh. The parts every table shares are described on Tables overview.
Density sets how tall each row is and Text Size sets how large the text reads. Density has four levels, in this order:
| Density | Row height | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Comfortable | 57 px | Spacious layout |
| Normal | 49 px | Standard spacing |
| Cozy | 38 px | Snug spacing |
| Dense | 28 px | Compact spacing |
The density control in the toolbar steps through the four levels in that order and wraps around again. A fresh table opens in Comfortable. Some tables pin their own density, which overrides your preference on that table.
Text Size, in the table's View menu, offers Small (12px), Medium (14px) and Large (16px).
Some tables offer a second layout, Card view, where every row becomes its own card. Those tables show a Table view / Card view switch in the toolbar, and the card grid lays out one to four cards per row depending on the width of the window.
A table can open in Card view on your first visit. Once you pick a view yourself, your choice is kept and the first-visit default no longer overrides it.
Card view hides the controls that only apply to the table: auto-fit, density and selection controls, and the column menu. Switch back to Table view to see them again.
Where a table allows it, the Selection mode menu sets how rows select:
| Mode | Rows select by |
|---|---|
| Checkbox | Clicking checkboxes. The header checkbox selects or clears all rows. |
| Drag | Clicking or dragging across rows. |
| Both | Checkboxes and dragging together. |
| None | Row selection is switched off. |
The same menu carries an Enable Cell Selection switch for Excel-like selection of cells and ranges. The menu offers only the choices the table supports, and the selection mode is kept for tables of the same kind, so tables that work alike select the same way.
Some tables come with column-level extras. These are part of how the table is built, not settings you change:
Come back to a table and your setup is there:
A layout is remembered for about two hours by default; the console's main tables keep theirs until you change it.
Table settings and drafts are kept in the browser you use. On another computer or in another browser, tables start from their defaults.
While you work, the table keeps your unsaved edits, deleted rows and newly added rows as a draft:
How editing works, and the actions that save or discard changes, are covered on Table cells and editing and Tables overview.
Most tables start at 50 rows per page and offer 50, 100, 500 or 1000. Tables that load their rows from the server start at 100 and offer 100, 200 or 500. Changing the filters, the sort or the search, or moving to another billing window, takes you back to the first page.
Which columns show and how they are arranged, your density and text size, your download format, filter-icon visibility and the selection mode.
Partly. Density, text size, the download format and filter-icon visibility are shared, so other tables follow them. What you arrange in one table's columns stays with that table, and the selection mode is kept for tables of the same kind.
No. Settings and drafts are kept in the browser you use, so another browser or computer starts from the defaults.
It most often expired: saved layouts last about two hours on tables that use the default memory, and a product update can also retire an older saved layout. The console's main tables keep their layout until you change it.
The table fills the window with columns until you size one yourself, so resizing the window or collapsing the sidebar redraws that fill. Drag a column edge once and your widths are kept from then on.
They come back. The table keeps them as a draft for up to about 24 hours, so a refresh does not lose your edits, deletions or added rows; the draft goes away once everything is saved, discarded or reverted.
Set the density to Dense from the table's view controls; set Text Size to Small (12px) if you want smaller text as well. A table that pins its own density keeps its own setting instead.
Card view hides the controls that only apply to the table: auto-fit, density and selection controls, and the column menu. Switch back to Table view to get them back.
Open the Selection mode menu where the table allows it and choose Checkbox, Drag, Both or None. The choice is kept for tables of the same kind.
Set Filter visibility in the table's view settings to Always visible, When active or hovered or Hidden. The menus the icons open are covered on Table filtering, sorting and search.
The first load of an empty table shows a sweeping loader across the whole area. After that, a refresh blurs just the rows, so the table does not jump while data updates. An empty table keeps its header and shows its own empty message.
