Every table in the console is built from the same cells, so a cell works the same way wherever you meet one. This page covers the cell itself: which cells you can edit, how each editor works, and the formats values display in.
For the table around the cell, see Tables overview; for filtering and sorting, Table filtering, sorting and search; for the controls above a table, The table toolbar.
System columns can't be modified. You edit one cell at a time.
No suggestions when there
are none. Press Enter or click away to save; Escape cancels.true or 1 counts as checked. The checkbox looks faint until you hover its row
or cell.HH:MM:SS form, stepping it with the small arrows (or
the mouse wheel); the steps carry between the units and wrap at the ends, so stepping up from
23:59:59 reaches 00:00:00. Apply saves the picked date and time; Cancel, Escape or a
click outside the panel closes it without saving.DD/ MM/ YYYY, and a date-and-time value adds HH:mm:ss. When saved, a date is
written as yyyy-MM-dd, or yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss when it carries a time.1,299. 46.Yes or No.1 Jan 26 - 20 Mar 26; a range that starts and
ends on the same day shows a single date.No email in an email cell, No Role in a roles cell,
Unknown user for a person, and No value or No label in a value-and-label cell. Other empty
cells show a dash. Some columns show a small label instead of plain text. The value decides the label:
| Value | Label |
|---|---|
true or active | Active |
false or inactive | Inactive |
pending | Pending |
completed | Completed |
failed | Failed |
success | Success |
error | Error |
warning | Warning |
info | Info |
| empty | Unknown |
Active, Inactive and Pending carry the success, error and warning colours; a value outside
this set is shown exactly as it is.
Double-click it. For text cells, you can also press Enter while the cell is selected. A cell that does not react to either is for display only or locked.
It is either for display only or locked. A locked cell belongs to a system column that the table
maintains itself; it shows a lock icon, and hovering it explains why, for example
System columns can't be modified.
Enter or clicking away saves the edit; Escape cancels it and keeps the old value. In the Date Slicer, Apply saves, while Cancel, Escape or a click outside the panel closes it without saving.
A checkbox cell saves the moment you click it: one click flips the value, and there is no edit step.
A value of true or 1 counts as checked.
Yes. The suggestions come from values already used in the column, and you can type any other value:
press Enter or leave the field, and it saves as it is. If the column has no values to suggest, the
list reads No suggestions.
Double-click the cell to open the Date Slicer, pick the day, switch on Time and set
HH:MM:SS, then click Apply. A date-only column has no Time field: pick the day and click
Apply.
Clicking outside the Date Slicer closes it without saving, the same as Cancel or Escape. Pick the date again and click Apply to save it.
The column carries a time, but the change was saved with the Time field switched off, so the
time is stored as 00:00:00. Switch Time on and set the clock before you click Apply.
Dates show as DD/, with HH:mm:ss added for date-and-time values. Decimals show two
decimal places with comma separators, such as 1,299., and a true or false value shows as Yes
or No.
No email or a dash in a cell mean? The value is empty. Depending on the column, an empty value shows No email, No Role, No value,
No label or Unknown user; elsewhere it shows a dash.
The label comes from the value: Active, Inactive, Pending, Completed, Failed, Success,
Error, Warning, Info, or Unknown when the value is empty. A value outside this set is shown
exactly as it is.
