Your account and sessions

Your account carries your password and every company you belong to. This page covers changing your password, how the console ends an idle session, signing out, and moving between companies.

Change your password

  1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open your user menu.
  2. Click Change Password.
  3. Fill in Current password, New password and Confirm new password. The form applies New password must be 8+ chars with upper, lower, number, and symbol. as a live checklist: 8+ characters, Uppercase, Lowercase, Number, Symbol. All five must pass.
  4. Click Change password.

When the change succeeds, the console shows Password changed. The form refuses the new password if the two entries differ (Passwords do not match), if the current password is wrong (Current password is incorrect), or if the new one repeats the old (New password must differ from the current password).

After you change your password, your other sessions end: anyone signed in elsewhere must sign in again with the new password.

If you cannot sign in because you have forgotten the password, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page; see Get access and sign in.

Stay signed in and sign out

The console ends an idle session on its own: after about 30 minutes without activity you are signed out. Two minutes before that, the Session ending soon dialog opens and counts down the time left (You have been inactive. You will be signed out in {m:ss}.).

Only these two buttons close the dialog. Clicking outside it does nothing, and while it is open your usual activity does not count. Activity in any open console tab does count, so working in another tab keeps the session alive.

To end a session yourself, open your user menu and click Logout. If the console reaches the platform after your session has already ended this way, it reports Session expired due to inactivity.

Switch between your companies

One account can belong to several companies. Switching happens in the header: the Company control opens the Switch company menu, described on Console navigation.

Questions, answered

How do I change my password?

Open your user menu at the bottom of the sidebar: click your name, then Change Password. Enter your current password and the new password twice, then click Change password.

What does the new password need to contain?

At least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a symbol, and it must differ from your current password.

How do I sign out?

Open your user menu at the bottom of the sidebar and click Logout. Your session ends on this device; sign in again next time.

Why was I signed out?

Your session ended after about 30 minutes without activity. When Session ending soon appears, click Stay signed in to continue. Otherwise sign in again.

How long can I stay inactive before the console signs me out?

About 30 minutes. A dialog warns you two minutes before the end and counts the time left.

Why can't I close the Session ending soon dialog by clicking outside it?

The dialog expects an answer, Stay signed in or Log out now, so clicking outside does nothing. While it is open your activity does not reset the timer either; click Stay signed in to keep working.

Does activity in another tab keep my session alive?

Yes. Activity in any open console tab counts, so you are not signed out while you are working in another tab.

Why did my other sessions end after I changed my password?

Changing your password ends the other sessions of your account as a security measure. Sign in again on each device with the new password.

Which company does the console open in when I sign in?

The first company on your list. If you arrived through an invitation, it opens the invited company. While you stay signed in, the console keeps the company you last chose, so a page refresh does not move you.

A company is missing from my list. Why?

Your list shows the companies where you hold a role. When an Administrator ends your access to a company, it no longer appears. Ask that company's Administrator; see Users and invitations.

I opened a company link and saw Could not open that company. What happened?

The link names a company the console could not open for you, for example one you no longer belong to. Nothing changes: you stay in your current company. If you were expecting access, ask that company's Administrator.
