Your company's DataMind OS and DataMind Installer servers can sign you in with your DataMind Platform account. When you choose Sign in with DataMind Platform on a server, your browser opens a DataMind Platform page that asks you to confirm the sign-in. This page explains who may continue, what the page shows and what each of its messages means.
You can continue on the approval page when all of these hold:
Only the company that owns the server counts. A role you hold in another company you belong to gives you nothing on this server, even if you are an Administrator there.
The license state does not stop the sign-in: when a payment is overdue or the license is locked, members who meet the rules above can still sign in to the server.
To let a colleague sign in, give them the Administrator role in your company; see Manage your team and Roles and permissions.
On the server's sign-in page, choose Sign in with DataMind Platform.
If you are not signed in to DataMind Platform, its sign-in page opens first
(Taking you to sign in…). The email field may already hold your address. Sign in as usual;
you come back to the approval page afterwards.
The page checks the request (Checking the sign-in request…), then shows a heading that names
the product, such as Sign in to DataMind OS, with
Your server asks to sign you in with your DataMind Platform account. and these details:
| Row | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Company | The company that owns the server. |
| Server | The server's name, as listed under Instances. |
| Product | The product on the server: DataMind OS or DataMind Installer. |
| Returns to | The address your browser goes back to when you click Continue or Cancel. |
| Signed in as | Your name and email address on DataMind Platform. |
Check the details. Below the buttons the page reminds you:
Continue only if you started this sign-in on that server.
Click Continue. The page shows Taking you back to your server… and your browser returns to
the server, signed in.
Cancel returns you to the server without signing you in. Continue and Cancel are the only buttons that send you back to the server, and a sign-in request takes only one answer.
| Page | What it means |
|---|---|
| You cannot sign in to this server | Your account may not sign in to this server, or the server or its company is no longer active. The page shows the account you are signed in with and never sends you back to the server. |
| This sign-in request expired | You opened or confirmed the sign-in too late, and the page could not send you back to the server on its own (for example, the connection dropped). Go back to the server yourself and start the sign-in again. |
| Start again on your server | The link is incomplete, was already used with Continue or Cancel, or is too old to recognise. |
| Sign-in is not available right now | DataMind Platform cannot complete the sign-in at the moment. |
On You cannot sign in to this server, the page does not name the server, the company or the address it came from. Use a different account signs you out of DataMind Platform and opens its sign-in page again, so you can continue with another account. The messages and what to do about each are in Platform troubleshooting.
A sign-in request lasts about nine minutes from the moment the server starts it. Reloading the
approval page, or signing in to DataMind Platform on the way, does not use it up. Continue or
Cancel uses it, once. Past the nine minutes the page shows Taking you back to your server… and
sends you back to the server without signing you in; start the sign-in again there.
Active members of the company that owns the server whose role there holds Sign In To Instances. Of the built-in roles, only Administrator has it. See Who can sign in.
Give them the Administrator role in your company from Users, or invite them as an Administrator. See Manage your team. The change applies straight away: their next sign-in on the server can continue.
Your account has no role with Sign In To Instances in the company that owns the server, you are not a member of that company, or the server or company is no longer active. Ask an Administrator of that company for access, or click Use a different account if you signed in with the wrong one.
A refused sign-in stays on the DataMind Platform page on purpose: only Continue and Cancel send you back. Go back to the server yourself, for example by opening its address again, and start the sign-in there when your access is sorted.
That you started this sign-in yourself, and that Company, Server and Returns to match the server you are signing in to. If you did not start it, click Cancel.
If the page refuses the account, click Use a different account. If it shows the approval details for the wrong account, click Cancel, sign out of the DataMind Platform console, then start the sign-in again on the server.
About nine minutes from the moment the server starts it. After that, the approval page sends you back to the server without signing you in; start again there.
