DataMind Oda signs in to your DataMind server with your DataMind OS account. This page covers how that sign-in works, what keeps it alive while you work, and what to do when Oda asks you to sign in again.
While you work, Oda renews the sign-in in the background, so a long session keeps going without asking you again.
When Oda has no sign-in it can use, it refuses the request and says so:
Sign in to your DataMind server first. The request needs your server, and there is no working sign-in on this computer.Sign in to your DataMind server to use DataMind models. You asked for a model from your server without a sign-in.Sign in again to continue; the steps are the same as the first time: Sign in to DataMind Oda.
When the sign-in could not be renewed, Oda shows Your DataMind sign-in could not be renewed. Check the connection from this computer to your server, then send the message again. If it keeps appearing, keep the message and contact your administrator.
Updates and troubleshooting lists the sign-in messages and what to do.

Oda renews the sign-in in the background as it works. Requests that need a renewal at the same time share one, and a request that met an expired sign-in is sent again once, with the renewed sign-in. You do not sign in again for every chat.

No. Oda keeps your sign-in and renews it as it works, and it keeps the access rules it last read, so a connection problem does not sign you out and never widens what Oda may do. If the sign-in cannot continue at all, Oda says so and you sign in again.
