Settings is the dialog where you change how DataMind Oda works on this computer: the language it uses, how it looks, how much of a turn's process you see, and the access mode new chats start in. This page covers the dialog and the rows on its General page.
The dialog holds these sections:
These are the rows you find on General, with where to read more about each:
| Row | What it decides | Where to read more |
|---|---|---|
| Permission | the access mode new chats start in | Permission presets |
| Language | the language of Oda's interface; a choice you make is remembered, and without one Oda follows your computer and falls back to English | |
| Appearance | Light, Dark or System for the whole app | Appearance and font size |
| Font size | the size of the text in your conversations; a stepper, 14 by default | Appearance and font size |
| Work details | how much of a turn's process shows by default; Compact is the default | Chat display settings |
| Performance & usage | how much performance and usage detail shows; the compact choice keeps the cache-hit figure | Chat display settings |
| Developer tools | diagnostic views; the Trajectory tab in chats follows this switch | Trajectory and session logs |
| Send behavior while busy | what Enter and the Send button do while Oda is working | Queue, steer and stop |
| Open chat links in | where links from a chat open; the row appears only while Oda has a built-in browser | Chat display settings |
The dialog also keeps the details Oda shows for you, such as your first name, last name and email. They are for local display only: they are never part of a request to a model.
Open configuration file opens Oda's settings file on this computer, so you can look at the choices Oda saved. What the file holds and when you may edit it is on The profile settings file.
Open Settings > General and use the Permission row. New chats start in the mode you chose last, here or in a chat, and a chat you already have keeps its own mode. What each mode allows is on Permission presets.
In Settings > General, step the Font size row with Increase font size and Decrease font size. It affects conversation content only, and it starts at 14. Appearance and font size has the details.
Only while troubleshooting. It is off to begin with, and while it is on Oda shows its diagnostic views and the Trajectory tab appears in your chats; turning it off hides them again (Trajectory and session logs).
Yes. There is no Save button: each change saves as soon as you make it, and Oda remembers it on this computer.
Oda imports the settings file the earlier version left behind once, the next time it starts: the values it held carry over, and the old file is renamed so it is not read again.
The About section of Settings shows the version installed on this computer (About, version and updates).
