Send feedback about a chat

While you work in a chat in DataMind Oda, you can tell it how things are going: type /feedback followed by your remark, or record one through the feedback dialog. This page covers remarks about a chat; ratings on single replies are on Rate Oda's messages.

Leave a remark with /feedback

  1. In the message box, type /feedback followed by your remark, then send it. The command is listed in the slash menu as Record feedback about this session.
  2. Oda records the remark and confirms with two lines: Feedback recorded for session {sessionId} and Anonymous user: {userId}.

The text keeps its form:

Use the feedback dialog

In the Oda web app, open the dialog with a bare /feedback, or choose Feedback in the … menu at the top of the chat.

The dialog is titled Submit feedback. It offers seven category chips and the Feedback details box, and every field is optional: a category, a note, both or neither. A submission with nothing in it is still accepted.

Choose Submit to record the submission. On success the dialog closes and Thanks for your feedback appears over the message box. The Feedback details box notes that a submission carries the chat's current log; what can leave your computer with a submission is covered on Feedback and privacy.

A submission records only while the chat is open in Oda: if the chat is no longer open when you submit, nothing is recorded and the dialog reports the failure.

What Oda does with your remark

Where the command is available

Questions, answered

Is my remark kept exactly as I typed it?

Yes, except for the spaces at its ends, which are trimmed. The remark is not shortened or changed, and nothing inside it is read as a command: /feedback /plan felt slow records those words as written.

Can I send more than one remark about a chat?

Yes. Each command records its own entry: nothing is merged with an earlier remark and nothing is replaced. Two remarks sent close together are recorded separately, in the order you sent them.

What happens if I send /feedback with no text?

In the Oda web app, a bare /feedback opens the feedback dialog instead, ready for a category and details. Empty input, or input with only spaces, is answered with Feedback text is required. Usage: /feedback <text>.

Will sending /feedback interrupt what Oda is doing?

No. A remark is recorded the moment you send the command and never starts work of its own; the model does not see it, and a running turn carries on unchanged.

Can a remark be lost if Oda stops suddenly?

It can. The confirmation means the remark reached the chat's log, not that it is written to disk: a remark recorded just before a sudden stop can be lost.

Is there a limit on how long a remark can be?

No. A remark has no size limit set. The 8,192-byte cap belongs to notes on reply ratings, not to remarks; see Rate Oda's messages.

Can I use /feedback from the command line?

No. /feedback is part of the Oda web app's chat; a run started from the command line or by an automation client has no slash commands, so there is nothing to type it into.

Do a typed remark and a dialog submission differ?

They record the same kind of entry in the chat's log. The command records the words you typed and confirms with the acknowledgement row; a dialog submission can also carry a category and details, and it shows Thanks for your feedback instead of the row.

Where can I see feedback I sent before?

There is no separate feedback list to browse. Oda records a remark in the chat's log on this computer, and the web app shows the command's acknowledgement as a row in the chat.
