Questions, answered

Why can't I find the extension in Cursor?

Search the Extensions view for DataMind Oda. Cursor installs its extensions from Open VSX, where Oda publishes its stable releases; the extension is Windows only, so it does not appear on macOS or Linux. If it is still missing on Windows, the install steps are on Install Oda in Cursor and sign in.

Oda says it has no runtime for my system. What do I do?

That build does not carry the runtime for your computer's processor, so Oda cannot start in it. The message reads This DataMind Oda build has no runtime for <target>. Reinstall the extension. Reinstall it from the Extensions view; the builds are -win32-x64 for 64-bit Windows and -win32-arm64 for Windows on Arm.

Oda stopped, or its service will not start. What do I do?

A notification reads DataMind Oda stopped unexpectedly. and offers Restart and Show Details. Choose Restart to start the service again, or run DataMind Oda: Restart Background Service from the Command Palette; Show Details opens the technical report in View > Output > DataMind Oda. If the service cannot start at all, the notice reads DataMind Oda could not start its background service. The full list of the extension's messages is on Fix problems with the Oda extension.

Where are the logs?

In the DataMind Oda output channel: choose View > Output and pick DataMind Oda. It holds the technical report, and Show Details on a stop notice opens it. The suggestion features write to their own channel, DataMind Oda Suggestions; Inline and next-edit suggestions covers what it shows.

A component download failed. What do I do?

The download is refused, and nothing is installed. Oda reports why: The <name> download is <received> bytes, not <size>., The <name> download does not match its checksum; it was not installed. or Downloading <url> failed: HTTP <status>. Try it again from Settings > Components, and keep the message if it returns. Components for the extension covers the download checks and the other messages.

Why do no suggestions appear while I write?

Inline and next-edit suggestions start off, so turn them on first: Inline suggestions under General in the extension's Settings, or DataMind Oda: Toggle Inline Suggestions from the Command Palette. Next-edit suggestions need inline suggestions on as well. With them on, Oda asks only after a short pause and only where writing on makes sense; inside a word it stays quiet, and a selection or several cursors ask nothing. Inline and next-edit suggestions covers every check and message.

Oda asks me to sign in again, or the sign-in did not finish. What do I do?

When your saved sign-in can no longer be used, Oda shows Your DataMind sign-in expired. or Your account no longer has access to DataMind Oda. with a Sign In action; sign in again to continue. A sign-in that stopped early reports Signing in timed out. Try again. or Signing in to DataMind Oda failed. Try again. Start it again from the status bar. Sign in to Oda in VS Code covers every sign-in message.

Why is Oda slow on Windows on Arm?

On Windows 11 on Arm, the extension runs the x64 runtime, and Windows on Arm emulates it, so Oda runs more slowly. That is expected.

What should I send when a problem keeps coming back?

The message exactly as the editor shows it, including any number or path in it, and what you were doing when it appeared. If the notice is gone, the report in View > Output > DataMind Oda carries the details. Keep the text and ask your administrator.
