Approve or reject connector changes
When the assistant proposes a change to a connector, the change can arrive as an approval card in the conversation and wait for your decision. Nothing is written until you approve. The conversation's change acceptance mode decides when changes wait. See Change acceptance for the assistant.
Read the approval card
- The heading reads Connector change needs your approval, and a count pill beside it counts the changes held on the card, for example 2 of 3 actions, or 1 action(s) for a single change.
- Each row names one held change: Update recipe, Edit recipe, Update connection settings, Add hosts to the whitelist or Request data access. A row carries the badge Awaiting approval.
- On a Request data access row, an admin also sees Open Data access, which opens the data access form for that connector.
- When the panel shows message authors, the card names who asked: Requested by name. After a decision, it reads Approved by name or Rejected by name.
- The buttons are Approve and Reject. While your decision is being applied, both buttons are disabled and a spinner shows.
- The card concerns the connector the assistant sits beside. For the Minds that build and manage connectors in their own chats, see Warehouse Builder and Lake Builder.
Approve or reject a change
- Read the rows, then select Approve to let the change be applied.
- To reject instead, select Reject. A box opens with the field Why? (optional; the model reads this). Write a reason if you want one, up to 500 characters, then select Confirm reject. Select Cancel to close the box without deciding.
- After a decision the card locks. A rejected change is marked with a Rejected badge. If more changes still wait, the card moves on to the next one.
While a change waits
- The message box shows the badge Approval pending with the line
Approve or reject the proposed change above before sending the next message.
- Sending is paused until you decide. Approve or reject the change on its card, and the message box opens again.
- While a reply is still streaming, the badge hides.
- Other reasons sending can pause are listed in Write and send messages to the assistant.
When a decision does not go through
- If Approval failed or Rejection failed appears, the decision did not save. The toast carries a message from the platform.
- The change keeps waiting, so you can decide again.
- More messages from Minds and the assistant are listed in Minds troubleshooting.
Questions, answered
Why is a connector change waiting for my approval?
The conversation is set to ask before changes are written: in Manual change acceptance, every recipe, config and host whitelist change waits for your decision. Approve or reject the change on its card.
What do the rows on the card mean?
Each row is one held change: Update recipe, Edit recipe, Update connection settings, Add hosts to the whitelist or Request data access. A row starts with the badge Awaiting approval.
Who asked for the change, and who decided it?
When the panel shows message authors, the card shows both: Requested by name while the change waits, and Approved by name or Rejected by name after the decision.
Is the rejection reason required?
No. You can reject a change without writing a reason. If you write one, it holds up to 500 characters, and the assistant reads it.
I clicked Cancel instead of Confirm reject. What happens?
The box closes and nothing changes, so the change keeps waiting. Select Reject again when you are ready to decide.
What does "Approval pending" above the message box mean?
A change waits for your decision, and sending is paused until you make it. Approve or reject the change on its card, and the message box opens again.
What do "Approval failed" and "Rejection failed" mean?
The decision did not save, so it was not applied. The toast carries the platform's explanation. The change keeps waiting; decide again.
When does the assistant ask instead of editing the files itself?
It follows the change acceptance mode. In Auto-accept, the assistant writes the recipe, config and host whitelist without asking, so no card appears. In Manual, each of these changes waits and shows this card. See Change acceptance for the assistant.
What happens after I reject a change?
The change is not applied, and its card is marked with a Rejected badge. The assistant reads the reason you wrote.
