The AI assistant can change the connector it sits beside: it writes the recipe, updates the connection settings and adds hosts to the whitelist. The change acceptance mode decides which of those changes it applies by itself and which wait for you.
If the new mode cannot be saved, a toast reads Could not change the acceptance mode with the line "The assistant is still running in the previous mode." The picker goes back to the mode you had, and you can try again.
In Auto-accept, the assistant writes the recipe, config and host whitelist without asking. In Manual, every recipe, config and whitelist change waits for your approval and shows on an approval card. Decide the card to let the change run or to stop it; see Approve or reject connector changes.
In the AI assistant beside an ANY API recipe. Open the options row with + under the message box and select the Change acceptance mode picker. It becomes available once the chat has started, and the choice is saved with that conversation. The rest of the message box is covered in Write and send messages to the assistant.
The tooltip names the reason. Available once the chat has started means this chat has no conversation yet, so there is nothing to change: send your first message, then set the mode. Applying the new mode... means a previous change is still saving: wait a moment. The picker is also greyed out while the panel is not connected.
No. The mode applies to tool calls the assistant evaluates after the change, and approvals already waiting stay pending. Decide the waiting change on its card; see Approve or reject connector changes.
Auto-accept, unless the conversation's Mind sets another Default change acceptance. A choice you make in the conversation always wins over the default.
It shows the mode in force when that mode is not Manual. Point to it to read the mode and what it does; screen readers announce Acceptance mode: Auto-accept. In Manual, and before a conversation exists, it is hidden.
The new mode could not be saved: a toast reads Could not change the acceptance mode with the line "The assistant is still running in the previous mode." The picker returned to the mode you had, so select the new one again.
No. Unrestricted is not offered for the connector assistant: the picker lists Auto-accept and Manual only. Builder chats have their own modes and permissions; see Warehouse Builder and Lake Builder.
No. The mode is saved with the conversation you set it in, so each new conversation starts from the default again.
