A slide deck is a presentation that a Mind builds from a conversation: you name it, add instructions, and the deck is built in the chat. This page shows how to start one, how to follow the build, and what you can set on a presentation; Ask a Mind covers the chat itself.
The deck dialog is called Generate Presentation. The finished deck appears in Artifacts as a Slide Deck.
The Mind builds the deck in the conversation, step by step. Every step appears as its own card:
A presentation carries settings that you can review and change in its settings dialog (Generate Presentation). Open it from the presentation's card in the conversation: point at the card and click the settings control (its tooltip reads Open Configuration). You can also open it from a presentation chip on a message that carries one.
| Setting | What it does | Options and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Theme | Sets the look of the deck. | Any theme in the catalog; Browse opens it, see Presentation themes. |
| Content Amount | Sets how much content each slide carries. | Brief, Medium, Detailed or Extensive; the bars under each option show its level. |
| Number of Slides | Sets how long the deck is. | Presets 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30; Custom takes any count from 2 to 51. |
| Tone & Style | How the deck should read. | Up to 500 characters, for example Professional, Casual. |
| Target Audience | Who the deck is for. | Up to 500 characters, for example Executives, Developers. |
| Custom Instructions (Optional) | Anything else the deck should follow. | Up to 500 characters. |
Cancel closes the dialog. Generate starts the generation from what you set. Attach to message puts the presentation on the message you are about to send instead, where it appears as a chip on the message box. Both action buttons are available only while the settings are valid: Tone & Style and Target Audience filled in, the three text fields within 500 characters each, and the slide count within 2 to 51. A count outside the range is corrected when you leave the field.
The Generate New Artifact chooser offers two cards, Report and Presentation, and a third card, Excel, that is shown disabled. A message carries at most 2 artifacts of each type; when two of a kind are already attached, that card is greyed out and its description reads "Maximum 2 allowed per message".
Reports are a legacy artifact type: new reports cannot be generated, while report artifacts that already exist still open and download; see Artifacts. A report card from an earlier conversation still opens its Generate Report dialog, with a Description (optional) field up to 1000 characters and the Cancel, Generate and Attach to message controls.
Open the conversation, click + in the message box and choose Slides. Fill in the Generate Presentation dialog and click Add to chat; the request lands in the message box, ready for you to send.
It becomes available when Presentation name has text. Enter a name to continue.
No. Add to chat only puts the request into the message box. The Mind builds the deck after you send the message in the conversation.
It is saved as a slide deck artifact. Open Artifacts to find it, present it or download it. See Artifacts.
Deck step cards report what they did when each step finishes instead of showing a progress bar. If a step fails, its card shows an Error block with the reason.
Yes, in the presentation settings. Choose a preset (5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30) or Custom for any count from 2 to 51. A count outside the range is corrected when you leave the field.
Presentation name is up to 255 characters; Additional instructions up to 1000; Tone & Style, Target Audience and Custom Instructions up to 500 each.
