Your company's DataMind models

DataMind Oda takes the models your company offers from your company's DataMind OS, and calls to those models go through your company's DataMind server. This page covers that list: the two Kartlos models, the other models your company allows, and what to do when your sign-in or Oda's version is out of date.

Where the model list comes from

The models your company offers

Kartlos Standard is the default: new chats start on it. Choose Kartlos Premium for complex tasks, or another model your company offers.

Effort levels on a model

Each model declares its own effort levels and its own starting level. For example, Kartlos Standard starts at High effort and Kartlos Premium at Medium.

When there is no working sign-in

Model calls go through your company's DataMind server, so they need a working sign-in on this computer. When there is none, the model list cannot load and model requests fail with:

Sign in to your DataMind server to use DataMind models.

Sign in again with your DataMind OS account to continue; your chats are kept. Install and sign in covers the sign-in steps.

Oda renews your sign-in in the background as you work. If the server no longer accepts it, the sign-in ends and Oda says Your DataMind sign-in has ended. Sign in again to continue.

When the server needs a newer Oda

Your company's DataMind server can require a minimum version of DataMind Oda before it answers model calls. When that happens, Oda shows Update required with the version your server needs:

Your DataMind server needs DataMind Oda {version} or later.

Choose Update now to install it; taking the update does not sign you out. If Oda cannot update itself here, it offers Open DataMind in your browser instead, and Use another server returns to the address screen. Update DataMind Oda covers the update.

Messages about other problems you meet in Oda are listed in Updates and troubleshooting.

Questions, answered

What are the Kartlos models in Oda?

Kartlos Standard and Kartlos Premium are DataMind's own models, served by your company's DataMind OS. Kartlos Standard is the default for new chats; choose Kartlos Premium for complex tasks. Each carries a short description in the model list.

Can I use models besides Kartlos?

Yes. The same list holds the other models your company offers, and you choose among them in the model picker like any other.

Who decides which models my company offers?

Your company. The list Oda reads is the list your DataMind OS offers for Oda; your administrator decides what is on it. You can trim your own pickers further in Settings > Models by hiding providers or models.

How is this list different from the providers in Settings?

The list starts from your company's DataMind server: it is the models your company offers. Settings > Models is the local side: it manages the providers Oda reaches models through on this computer, and models you add there appear in the picker too.

Why do the two Kartlos models start at different effort levels?

Each model declares its own effort levels and its own starting level, and the two differ: for example, Kartlos Standard starts at High and Kartlos Premium at Medium. The choices you see come from the model.

Why does Oda ask me to sign in to use DataMind models?

Model calls go through your company's DataMind server, so they need a working sign-in on this computer. With none, the model list cannot load and model requests fail with Sign in to your DataMind server to use DataMind models. Sign in again with your DataMind OS account; your chats are kept.

Why does Oda ask me to update before it can use the models?

Your server can require a minimum version of DataMind Oda before it answers model calls. Oda shows Update required with the version your server needs, and Update now installs it without signing you out.

What does the New label mean?

A New label marks a model that was added to your company's list recently. It is only a note about the list: the model behaves like any other.
