Everything you start in DataMind Oda is a chat, and your chats live in the sidebar, a list you can search, sort and tidy. This page covers the list and the actions on a chat's row; Chat with Oda covers the conversation itself.
Search session names, and the search reaches past names: matches from inside your messages arrive too, from an index Oda builds on your first search. No matching sessions. When you search from a chat's Trajectory view, the field reads Search session names and messages. Search keeps its own limits, such as how many results it returns; Session search and history paging has the details.
Open View options to decide how the sidebar shows your chats:
Every row has a menu, Session actions for <title>:
(1). Your original chat stays as it is.Point at a row for a moment and its card shows the full name even when the row clips it; a copy control takes the full name to your clipboard.
Archiving hides a chat you are done with. Nothing is deleted: the chat and its log stay on your computer, and you can bring the chat back when you need it.
Session stopped and archived., and the chat leaves the list. Nothing resumes on its own, and an archived chat is idle: none of its work keeps running while it stays archived. To bring the chat back, open View options and choose Show archived or Archived only, then choose Unarchive session from its row menu. The chat returns to the list and can be continued.
Oda asks first with the Stop and archive this session? dialog, and Work that will be stopped lists what the confirmation will stop, such as The turn in progress or the chat's background jobs. The work keeps running until you confirm; choose Stop and archive to stop it and archive the chat, or Cancel to leave everything as it is.
Open View options and choose Show archived to bring archived chats back into their places, or Archived only to see just them; then choose Unarchive session from the chat's row menu. The chat returns to the list and can be continued; work that was stopped when it was archived does not restart on its own.
Oda makes a second chat that continues on its own; the fork is cut at the first tool step, so the copy holds the conversation up to that point, and its name gains a number, for example (1). The original chat stays as it is. Versions inside a single chat are a different thing, covered in Conversation branches.
Double-click its name in the list, or choose Rename from the row menu, and type the new name. Sessions: list and lifecycle covers how names are tidied when they are saved and what happens to a name that cannot be used.
Yes. Point at the chat for a moment: its card shows the full name even when the row clips it, and the card's copy control puts the full name on your clipboard.
It counts the chats still hidden in that group. Each time you choose it, five more chats appear and the number counts down; when the rest fit in a single batch they all appear and the control becomes Show less.
Both. Oda matches chat names as you type, and matches from inside your messages arrive too, from an index it builds on your first search. Choose a result under Search results to open that chat; when nothing matches, the list reads No matching sessions. Session search and history paging covers how search works and its limits.
Pin session moves the chat to the Pinned area at the top of the sidebar, above the workspace groups. It stays there until you unpin it.
