Your first task

Run a task

  1. Click New chat (Ctrl N). The chat opens in the workspace you used last. To use another folder, choose it with the workspace button in the message box.
  2. Describe the task in the message box, for example Summarise the PDF reports in this folder in one Word document, and press Enter.
  3. Follow the progress in the chat. Oda shows each step as it works, such as reading files, running commands or searching the web, and you can stop it at any time.
  4. When DataMind Oda needs your approval, the chat shows Waiting for approval and a card asks you before it acts. See Approve or reject Oda's actions.
  5. When the work is done, the files Oda made appear as cards in the chat. See Create documents and reports.

Approve or reject Oda's actions

Oda asks before it does something outside the access you allowed, such as changing a file outside the workspace or running a command that needs more rights. The chat shows a card with what Oda wants to do, for example editing report.xlsx, and your choices:

ChoiceWhat happens
Allow onceOda does this one step. Next time it asks again.
Allow edits for this chatShown when the chat is Read Only and Oda wants to change a file. Oda does the step, and the chat switches to Workspace Write, so changes inside the workspace no longer ask.
RejectOda does not do it and tries another way.
Reject with instructions…Oda does not do it. You write what to do instead, for example Save it as a new file, and click Reject and send.

How much Oda may do without asking depends on the access mode; see Workspaces, files and permissions.
