iPhone and iPad

Use this page to add DataMind OS to the home screen of an iPhone or iPad, so it opens full screen like an app. iOS has no one-tap install, so you add it yourself from Safari.

Note

Only Safari can add DataMind OS to the home screen. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera on iPhone and iPad do not offer the install, so open your DataMind OS address in Safari.

Add DataMind OS to your home screen

Open your DataMind OS address in Safari and sign in with your DataMind OS email and password. On a phone, you land in Minds.
Start the install in one of two ways:
- Tap Install on the banner at the top of Minds.
- Tap the panel icon at the top left of the screen, tap your name at the bottom of the panel, then tap Install app.
A sheet opens with three steps. Tap the Share icon in Safari's toolbar.
Select Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add.
Open DataMind OS from your home screen.

The app opens full screen. Inside it, the install offer does not appear.

Permissions

On a phone, DataMind OS opens Minds, so you need access to Minds to use the app. Without it, DataMind OS sends you to an access page instead. See Who can do what with Minds.

Limits and edge cases

The app does not always know that it is installed. The install offer can therefore still appear in Safari after you add the app. Open the DataMind OS icon from your home screen instead.
Tap the X on the banner to hide it. It stays hidden until you open DataMind OS in a new browser tab. The banner never shows inside the installed app.
A window narrower than 768 px opens Minds only. An iPad window at least 768 px wide opens the full product, which has no install banner or sheet. There, add the app with Safari's Share icon and Add to Home Screen directly.

Questions, answered

I do not see Install app on my iPhone. What now?

Open DataMind OS in Safari. The install row is hidden in other iOS browsers, and it is also hidden once the app is on your home screen.

Where is the Share icon?

It is in Safari's toolbar, which Apple controls. Its position can change between iOS versions.

Can I install DataMind OS on an iPad?

Yes, with Safari. In a window narrower than 768 px, use the same steps as on an iPhone. In a wider window, the full product opens without the install sheet, so use Safari's Share icon and Add to Home Screen yourself.

What is the app called on my home screen?

DataMind OS.

Safari still offers to install after I added the app. Did it fail?

No. Safari cannot always tell that the app is already on your home screen, so the offer can stay. Open the DataMind OS icon to use the app.

Why does the iOS Devices tile on Universe have only Documentation?

There is no file to download for iPhone and iPad. The Documentation button opens setup help in the side panel. To install the app, open DataMind OS in Safari on your phone. See Integrations.
