The data grid shows rows of results across DataMind OS, including the results of a query in the Editor. Use it to move through pages, switch its layout, set the spacing and reorder rows.
Many parts of the grid have their own page: The grid toolbar, Arrange and fit columns, Cell types and formats, Edit cells and unsaved changes, Select, copy and paste cells, Compare rows side by side, Filter, sort and search and Export and copy.
The page buttons appear only when the result has more than one page.
Tables that do not set their own page sizes offer 50, 100, 500, 1000 and All. Editor results offer 50, 100, 500 and 1000, without All, and show up to 1000 rows per page. To get the whole result, export it; see Export and copy.
New rows you have added but not saved yet sit at the bottom of every page, and sorting and filters skip them. Save the row to give it its place among the rest. See Edit cells and unsaved changes.
Some tables can also show their rows as cards.
While you are in card view, the controls that belong to the table only are not shown: auto-fit, density, selection mode and column visibility. Switch back to Table view to use them.
While cards load, they show Loading.... When nothing matches, they show No results found, or the empty message of the screen you are on (the default reads "Oops... there's no data to display.").
Density and text size are saved in your browser, not on your account. A different browser, or a private window, starts from the defaults.
Some tables let you drag a row to a new position.
Row reordering pauses while a sort, a column filter or the search is active. The grip is greyed out and its tooltip reads Clear sorting, filters and search to reorder rows. Clear them, then drag again.
Some tables do not offer the drag at all, for example paginated, hierarchical or wrapped-text grids, or grids where the screen turns it off. Their grip tooltip reads Row reordering is not available for this view.
The grid reports where the row was dropped, and the screen that owns the table saves the new order.
Tables with grouped column headers fold their columns into groups.
When a table wraps text, a row grows so long values are shown in full instead of being cut off. The density sets the row's base height; a long value makes the row taller.
A table whose columns fit the window leaves no horizontal scrollbar. One that cannot fit keeps scrolling rather than squeezing columns below their minimum width.
Press Esc to close the box without jumping. If nothing matches, the box shows No columns found.
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Density | Sets the spacing between rows. Click the density button to move through Comfortable, Normal, Cozy and Dense. | Comfortable. Editor results open in Dense. |
| Text size | Sets the size of the grid text: Small (12px), Medium (14px) or Large (16px). | Small (12px). |
| Rows per page | Sets how many rows each page shows. | 50. Editor results start at 1000. |
Grid preferences are saved in your browser, not on your account: density, text size, the default export format and copy options, filter visibility and selection mode. A different computer, or a private window, starts from the defaults. Each setting is described on its own page: Export and copy, Filter, sort and search and Select, copy and paste cells.
The grid has no permission of its own. It shows what the screen allows, so you see it on any screen you can open. To open the Editor, your role needs Execute Query or Add/Remove Consoles. See Editor and How access works.
Choose All under Rows per page: where the table offers it. Editor results go up to 1000 rows per page, so for a larger result, use Export and copy.
Click the density button in the toolbar until the tooltip reads Dense (Compact spacing). The four levels are Comfortable, Normal, Cozy and Dense, and your choice is saved in this browser.
Open the View menu and choose under Text Size: Small (12px), Medium (14px) or Large (16px).
When the table wraps text, a row grows so long values are shown in full. Rows with short values keep the height of the current density level. To make rows shorter overall, click the density button until it reads Dense.
The Table view / Card view control appears only when the table offers a card layout. If you do not see it, this table shows its rows in the table layout only.
A sort, a column filter or the search pauses row reordering. The tooltip reads Clear sorting, filters and search to reorder rows. Clear them, then drag again. If the tooltip reads Row reordering is not available for this view, the table does not offer row reordering at all.
Editor results show each column's ClickHouse type by default, with wrapper names such as Nullable or LowCardinality left off. Click the Hide column data types button to remove the types, and Show column data types to bring them back.
Dates appear as DD/MM/YYYY, with the time added for datetime columns, as the server returns them and without a time zone shift. Numbers are grouped with thousands separators, for example 1,230.
New rows you have not saved yet stay pinned to the bottom, and sorting and filters skip them. Save the row to give it its place among the rest. See Edit cells and unsaved changes.
Grid preferences are saved in the browser you use, not on your account. Set the density, the text size and the other grid settings again on each computer.
