| rls validation failed: every RLS group requires a name and rls validation failed: RLS group names must be unique | Every group needs its own name. Name each group and check that no two share a name. |
| rls validation failed: group "name": semicolons are not allowed | A SQL condition is invalid. The reason after the group name says what to fix, for example semicolons are not allowed. Write the condition as one expression. |
| Managing row-level security requires semantic model edit access. | Opening row-level security for editing needs Edit DataPrism Semantic Model. Ask for it. |
| Unpublish first to turn on RLS. and Public links are active on reports built on this model. Unpublish first to turn on RLS. | Public links block the change. Unpublish them, then turn row-level security on. |
| Revoke the chart API tokens first to turn on RLS. and Chart API tokens are active on reports built on this model. Revoke them first to turn on RLS. | Chart API tokens block the change. Revoke them, then turn row-level security on. |
| Chart API tokens limited to RLS groups are active on this model. Revoke them first to turn off RLS. | Tokens limited to groups block the change. Revoke them, then turn row-level security off. |
| RLS groups are configured but row-level security is DISABLED - conditions are not applied. | Your groups are saved, but the toggle is off. Turn row-level security on and save. |
| Row-level security: no data is available for your user and Row-level security: no data is available for email | Row-level security gives you no rows. Ask a model editor to add you to a group. |
| Enter a valid email address. and No active user has this email. | In View as, choose a user from the list. |
| Add at least one group. | Validation found nothing to apply in the Groups editor. Add a group, or switch to SQL mode if one catch-all condition is what you need. |
| Group N needs a name., Group N needs a target table. and Group N needs a condition. | A group in the draft is incomplete; Save stays off until every group is complete. Fill in the missing field on the named group. |
| Choose the table the SQL condition filters. and Write the SQL condition for everyone else. | The Everyone else block needs a target table, or a condition. Pick the Target table, then write the condition using {user_email:String} where the viewer's email is compared. |
| Only {user_email:String} is substituted at query time. | Any other parameter in a SQL condition is flagged "- not supported" and is not replaced. Use {user_email:String} for the viewing user's email and remove other parameters. |
| Turn On and Save for either mode to apply. Switching this tab only changes the editor. | Groups and SQL edit the same stored rules; flipping Mode changes nothing until the toggle is On and the change is saved. Finish the edit, turn the toggle On and click Save. |
| Row-level security saved | The whole configuration was replaced with the draft and the rules are now in effect (when the toggle is On). Check the result with View as. |
| No groups yet. Users who are in no group see no rows while row-level security is enabled. | The Groups editor is empty, so once the rules are On no non-Main viewer qualifies for any row. Add a group with members and a condition before you turn the rules on. |
| If a user belongs to multiple groups, their filters are combined with OR. | A viewer who matches several groups gets the union of their conditions. Narrowing means editing the conditions, not the membership. |
| Viewing as email - charts show what this user is allowed to see | Every chart on the report runs under that person's row-level security for your session only. Read the charts, then click Exit to return to your own view. |
| / row-level security filter applied / | The filter row-level security added to a chart query is masked in the SQL view for viewers outside the Main group. Main-group members and model editors see the full statement. |

| This report changed elsewhere | Someone saved the report after you opened it, and saving is paused. Overwrite saves your edits as the newest version, and theirs stays in the history. Revert asks you to confirm with Revert and discard mine, then loads their version and drops your edits. |
| Save failed, Overwrite failed and Revert failed (with The newer version could not be loaded.) | The save did not go through. Retry. If it keeps failing, reload the page. |
| Reload to save - this report uses a newer visual type | Your browser tab is out of date: the report was saved by a newer build. Choose Reload to continue; edits made since the last save cannot be kept. |
| This report has no saved versions yet. Versions appear with the first save. | The report has never been saved, so there is no history to show. Save the report; the first save creates version 1. |
| This version's document can no longer be parsed. | The version is too old to restore. Pick another version. |
| Unsupported .dataprism format version: only version 1 is supported. | The file was made by an incompatible version. Export the report again and import that file. |
| Imported with 1 unresolved reference or Imported with N unresolved references | The report imported, but some tables or measures it uses are not in the model. Add them to the model, then open the report. |
| This report has no semantic model, so its references cannot be exported. | A report without a semantic model cannot be exported as a . file, because its table and measure references have nothing to resolve against. |
| The folder belongs to a different workspace. | Choose a folder that belongs to the workspace you are moving to. |
| This is another user personal workspace. You can open what is already in it, but not put anything into it. | You cannot add items to another user's personal workspace. Choose your own workspace or a role workspace; reading what is already there needs View Everyone's Personal DataPrism Workspace. |
| This report lives in a role workspace, so it cannot move into a personal one. | Click Make a copy instead in the Move dialog to create a report you own. The original stays in the role workspace. |
| This semantic model lives in a role workspace, so it cannot move into a personal one. | Keep the model in its role workspace, or use Make a copy from the model's menu and place the copy where you need it. |
| Folder not created, Folder not updated and Folder not deleted | The folder action failed. Read the description, and check that you have Manage DataPrism Workspaces. |
| N items not deleted and Nothing was deleted | Some items were refused. Read the list of items that were not deleted. |
| The server refused to delete this item. | The delete will not succeed on a retry; a refusal is a permission answer. Check your permissions, or ask the item's owner to delete it. |
| View not saved | Your view preference did not save. Retry; if it keeps failing, reload the page. |
| Open a report before adding filters. and Open a report before adding slicers. | Open a report, then drag the field onto it. |

| Select a single saved visual to add a visual-level filter. | Select one saved visual before you add a visual-level filter. |
| That field is already a filter in this bucket. and That field is already a slicer on the filter canvas. | The field is already in use here. Use a different field, or remove the existing one. |
| Measures cannot be used in a slicer | Use a column in a slicer. |
| Date fields cannot go in a slicer group | Use a date slicer for dates. |
| This filter is bound to one column | A filter in the Filters panel keeps its column. Delete it and add a new one. |
| Bind a field to the slicer first. and Bind a field to the slicer before syncing across pages. | Add a column to the empty slicer. |
No free field well for "field" on this visual, with the field's name | All the places for that kind of field are full. Remove a field from the visual first. |
| Open a report to author page and visual filters. | The Filters pane has no report to work on. Open a report, then build filters. |
| Drag fields here to filter every visual on this page. and Drag fields here to filter the selected visual. | The page bucket, or the visual bucket, is empty. Drag a column from BI tables into the bucket; the visual bucket needs one saved visual selected. |
| Select a visual to add visual-level filters. and Save the visual before adding visual-level filters. | A visual-level filter needs exactly one saved visual. Select one, and add a draft visual to the report first if it is still a draft. |
| Loading filters and Creating filter… | The pane is loading the report's filters, or a new filter card is still being created. Wait; the card's editor appears when it is ready. |
| Incomplete - applying clears the saved value | The filter is missing values, so applying it as it stands would drop its saved preset. Fill in what the line under the card names, or clear the filter instead. |
| Enter both bounds to apply., Select at least one value to apply. and Enter a value to apply. | A between, list or single-value filter is missing part of its condition. Fill it in, or clear the filter. |
| Select values, Select a value, Min, Max, From and To | The filter's value controls: pick from the column's list or fill in both bounds. Blanks are not offered as values, use Is blank for them. |
| Failed to load values and Loading values… | The column's value list could not be loaded, or is loading. Reopen the card, or wait for the list. |
| No fields to filter | The matrix filter menu has no fields to offer. Check the matrix's rows and wells; there is nothing to filter yet. |
| Remove filter | The control that takes the filter off its bucket; removal applies at once. |
| Delete filter? with This will permanently remove the filter from the Filters panel and from every page it constrains. | Deleting a tile on the filter canvas asks for confirmation. Confirm with Delete, or cancel to keep the filter. |
| Drag a column from BI tables here to add a slicer. and No filters on this report yet. | The filter canvas is empty: the first sentence shows to an editor, the second to a reader. Drag a column onto the canvas, or leave the report as it is. |
| Move filter to the Filters panel?, Move filter onto the pages? and Move filter onto this page? (with Move to Filters panel, Move to pages and Move to this page) | The field already lives in another filter home, so DataPrism asks before moving it. Confirm to move it, or cancel and keep it where it is. |
| Stop syncing this slicer across pages? Copies on other pages will be deleted. | Returning a synced slicer to one page deletes the copies on other pages. Confirm to delete them, or cancel. |
| Add a chart first and No filters available | The footer Filters trigger needs a chart, or the report has no slicers. Add a chart, or ask an editor to add a slicer. |
| Filters applied | The staged filters and Top N changes were committed as one change. Nothing to do; one undo steps back. |
| Add at least one field to rank by. and Add a field to this visual to rank it. | The Top N rule has no ranked field, or the visual has no fields. Pick a field under Rank by, or add fields to the visual first. |
| Field removed with This field is no longer on the visual and Top N | The Top N row points at a field that left the visual, or the badge names the active rule. Put the field back in the wells, use Clear to drop the rule, or change it in the Top N section. |
| Keep only the top or bottom N values of a dimension. | The description of the Top N option: a rule keeps only the top or bottom items of one field. With a single visual selected, open Filters and set Rank by, Order by and Show, then Apply. |

| Drag a field to Field to list its values | The slicer has no field bound yet. Drag a column from BI tables into the Field well. |
| No values for this field | The column has no values under the filters currently applied; the empty list is a real answer, not a broken slicer. Clear the report's other selections, or check the column. |
| No values match the search and Loading more… | The search matches none of the column's values, or the next page of values is being fetched. Change or clear the search; the server-side search covers the whole column. |
| (blank) and No date values for this field | A value that is empty in the data is listed as (blank), and a date slicer whose column holds no dates cannot draw its range. Check the column for empty values or dates. |
| Synced with global slicer, ... syncs with the global ... slicer and Reset slicer | The row follows a report-wide slicer for its column instead of running its own list. Reset slicer clears that global selection on every page; it appears only while the row actually filters. |
| Not supported in a slicer group, Field unavailable and Already shown above | A group row's field cannot be listed: the kind is refused, the column cannot be resolved, or the same column is already another row. Replace or remove the field; a group lists each column once. |
| Could not load values | The row's value list failed to load. Reload the report and try again; check your connection. |
| Select date, From date, To date, On or before, On date and On or after | The date slicer's bound fields, one set per style. Set the bound from the calendar, a preset or the slider; until a date is picked the slicer does not filter. |
| Loading date range… | The slicer is still reading the column's first and last dates. Wait; if the message does not clear, the column has no dates and the no-values message appears. |
| This visual type can't filter other visuals and Field parameter slicers switch fields on every visual and can't be turned off per visual | The visual chosen as the source cannot send a selection: tables, matrices and KPI tiles never filter other visuals, and a field parameter slicer cannot be limited visual by visual. Pick a chart or a regular slicer as the source; a selection can still filter the blocked visual. See Cross-filtering and selections. |
| No other visuals on this page | There is nothing on the page for this visual to affect. Check you are on the page whose visuals the selection should reach, and add the other visuals first if the page is empty. |
| Nothing outside this visual is filtering it. | No other visual's selection is reaching this visual, and the Applied filters list is empty. If you expected a filter, check the source visual's interaction setting and the values selected. |
| Don't affect this visual (this visual ignores all visuals) and Not affected | The visual is set to ignore every visual's selection; it shows a hatched overlay while the editor is open. Choose Filter this visual on its top-right controls to let the selection through. |
| Reset to the author's saved view (the button reads Reset) | The report footer's Reset drops your personal view (sort, page size, drill, funnel filters, column widths, searches, zoom, cross-filters and slicer selections) and restores what the author saved. |

| Delete page? with This will permanently delete "..." and the ... visuals on it. This action cannot be undone. | The confirmation before a report page is deleted; it names the page and its visuals, and a page with none reads without the visual sentence. Confirm or dismiss; deleting is disabled for the last remaining and the last visible page. |
| ... (hidden) | The page is hidden from readers; authors see it in the tab strip with this marker. Choose Show page on the tab to show it to readers again. |
| Resize one tile at a time | A keyboard resize was tried while several tiles were selected, so it was refused. Select a single tile and resize it; use the align and distribute actions to tidy a group. |
| x ... , y ... and ... × ... | The readout shown for a moment while the arrow keys nudge or resize selected tiles, giving their grid position or size. It hides by itself. |
| Select a visual to align | The Align control is disabled because nothing is selected. Select one or more tiles; the distribute actions also need at least three tiles. |
| No data yet, Updated HH:MM, Paused, Idle and Off | The wall display's readout: the first shows before numbers arrive, Updated names the time they last loaded, Paused means the display is held, Idle means nothing is counting down, and Off means that cadence is switched off. Press Space or k to resume, and move a slider or use its switch to turn a cadence back on. |
| This report has one page | The wall display cannot turn pages, or Cycle pages is greyed out, because the report has a single page. Add a page, then start the wall display again. |
| Unavailable theme | The theme stored as the report's default no longer exists. Choose another Default theme, or None; the report falls back to viewer picks and current themes. |
| Pick a default theme first. | Force default theme needs a default theme before it can be turned on. Set Default theme first, then turn the force on. |
| Color theme ... is not available to this export; the built-in Light theme is used instead. | An exported or emailed copy could not apply the report's colour theme, so it used the built-in Light colours. Check that the theme still exists; the copy itself is fine and this warning needs no retry. |
| Loading report (embed) | The embed is checking the link and loading the report. Wait; a link that cannot be read ends on the not-available page instead. |
| Unsaved - closing saves | The documentation panel has edits that are written back when it closes. Close the panel to write the notes into the report, then save the report as usual. |
| You see | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| This report changed elsewhere - overwrite or revert first | The save control is blocked while a conflict is open; it is the save hint in that state. Overwrite or Revert first; saving then resumes. |
| Nothing to save | There is nothing to write; no changes since the last save. The save control stays disabled until something changes. |
| Exit edit mode without saving? (with Discard and exit, Save and exit, Keep editing) | You are leaving edit mode with edits that were not written to a version. Save and exit writes a version first; while a save conflict blocks saving, only Discard and exit or Keep editing are offered. |
| Leave without saving? (with Leave without saving, Save and leave, Stay here) | You are leaving the report with edits that were not written to a version. Save and leave writes a version first and lets the navigation continue once the report is clean; it cannot proceed on a failed or running save. |
| Revert and lose your changes? (with Revert and discard mine, Keep editing) | Revert would drop the edits made in this tab; the dialog is raised only when the report still has unsaved edits. Revert and discard mine loads the version saved elsewhere; Keep editing stays, and Overwrite is the alternative that keeps your edits. |
| Version restored and Saved as version N. Nothing in the history was overwritten. | The version you restored was appended as a new newest version; nothing in the history was rewritten. The list gains a version labelled Restored from version N. |
| Report version saved successfully and Restored from version N | The save appended the whole document as a new version; a restored version is labelled with the number it was restored from. Nothing to do; the version list gains the row. |
| No differences from the previous version. and No differences from the current version. | The comparison found no changes between the selected version and the one it is compared with. Pick another version or the other comparison side. |
| Select a version to see its changes. and Select a version to preview it. | No version is selected yet in Changes or Preview. Select a version in the list. |
| Save the report first: this action rewrites the report on the server. | The action works on the server's copy and this tab has unsaved changes, so it was refused. Save the report (Ctrl+S or Save now), then run the action again. |
DataPrism checks a report document when it imports a file or loads a saved report. A problem is reported in the sentences below; names and values are shortened, and a long list of tiles ends with an extra sentence.
| You see | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| Not a valid .dataprism file. and The .dataprism file carries no report document. | The file cannot be read as a report: it is not a JSON document in this format, or it holds no report document. Export the report again and import that file. See Build a report. |
| The report document must be an object with metadata, charts and filters. | The document is missing its structure. Related sentences name the part that is wrong, for example The report document charts must be an array. or The document contains chart id "..." twice. Use a fresh export of the report. |
| A chart's custom code does not match the signature it was saved with, its library pin is incomplete, or it lists a library that is not allowed | The report refuses to load that visual. Ask the report's author to re-save the visual from its Studio. See Custom visuals and the visual library. |
| ... was written by a newer build (type "..."); this build treats it as read-only. | The tile was saved by a newer DataPrism than this browser tab has, so it stays read-only. Reload the page; if it stays read-only, the build is genuinely older and the tile waits for an upgrade. A retired text tile stays hidden and inert, and a legacy pivot reads as a matrix. |
| "..." overlaps "..." on page p1. | Two tiles sit on the same spot. Move one of them. A chart on a page the report does not have, or a chart without a layout, is packed into the next free slot, and a layout below the minimum size is clamped on read. |
| A field sits in a well the visual does not have, or a global slicer is missing its group | The item is reported and ignored; an entry that no longer exists is dropped on the next edit. Remove the field, or re-create the slicer with its group. |
| A filter needs a table, a column and a title | The filter is reported and left out; a duplicate filter id, or a visual filter pointing at a chart that does not exist, is dropped on the next edit. Complete the filter, or delete it. |
| Every page of the report is hidden; viewers fall back to showing all of them. | All pages were hidden, so viewers see every page instead of an empty report. Show at least one page again. A duplicate page id or a title longer than 120 characters is reported the same way. |
| A tile option is unknown, has the wrong value, or is one the type does not use | The option is reported and the tile carries on without it. Remove or correct the option in the format pane. |
| ... links to "..."; only http, https and mailto links are allowed. | A text box link uses a scheme DataPrism does not open. Change it to an http, https or mailto link. A text box over its caps reads for example ... textbox holds 201 blocks; the limit is 200., and one whose live values are out of step says ... measureIds do not match the measures its textbox references. |
| ... shows an image without alt text. | An image has no alt text. Add a short description for accessibility. Related sentences: ... image alt text is longer than 500 characters., ... references the asset "...", which the report does not have. and ... shows the asset "...", which is not an image.. Upload the asset again, or pick an image file. |
| ... textbox references measure "...", which is not a measure id (UUID). and ... references measure "...", which the report's semantic model does not have. | A live value is not bound to a real measure, or names a measure the report's model does not have, so the save is refused. Point the live value at a measure of the report's model, or add the measure to the model. |
| Page p1 title is longer than 120 characters. | A page title is stored past the 120-character cap; p1 stands for the page's id. Open the page in edit mode and shorten the title. |

| Incomplete chart configuration | The visual is missing required fields. Fill its empty places. |
| Chart rendering failed | The visual could not draw. Refresh it, then reduce the data or change the visual type. |
| Showing earlier result - refresh failed | The visual shows its last good result. Refresh it again. |
| Not enough privileges to view this report | The database denied the query behind this visual, so the tile shows this line instead of an error panel. Your account lacks access to the data. Ask an administrator for access to the table. |
| Copy failed and Failed to copy to clipboard. | The copy did not work. Copy again. |
| Nothing to split by and No remaining field has a member under this node. | There is no field left to split this node by. Add an Explain by field. |
| High value split failed and Low value split failed | The decomposition query failed. Retry. |
| Unrecognized pattern. Try tokens like dd, MM, yyyy, HH, mm. | A custom date pattern in the format editor is not valid, so it is not applied. Use the tokens the message lists. See Format a visual. |
| Map settings are unavailable right now; try the map again shortly. | The map service is busy. Try again shortly. |
| None of the locations could be placed on the map. | No value matched a location. Check the location fields and values. |
| Latitude and longitude fields are turned off for this organization. | Your organisation does not allow coordinates. Use the Country, Region or City fields, or ask an administrator to allow them in the map settings. |
| Geometry fields are turned off for this organization. | Your organisation does not allow geometry fields. Use the Country, Region or District fields, or ask an administrator to allow them. |
| Aggregation failed | The visual's run failed before it could draw. Where the tile offers Show details, open it to read the reason, fix what it names and run the visual again. |
| Click Execute to generate chart and Configure chart fields | The visual has fields but has not been run yet, or has no fields to plot. Run the visual; add fields to its wells and run it. |
| Showing first shown of total series and Chart limit reached. Showing the first count of total data points. | The legend field has more distinct values than the chart can draw, so the extras are left out. Add a filter to narrow the legend field, or raise the visual's limit. |
| Row limit reached - use Export to get the full data and Load more with Loaded N of M rows | The visual loaded as many rows as its window allows, and more remain. Use Export to download the full result, or narrow the report filters. |
| invalid chart configuration: limit must be at most 500 for a Pie visual (got 501) (the family repeats per type) and invalid chart configuration: windowLimit must be at most 500 for a Key tree visual (got 501) | A hand-made request asked for a limit above the type's ceiling. Lower the value; in General > Limits nothing above the ceiling is offered. |
| invalid chart configuration: chart needs at least one summarize field or measure | The visual has no value field or measure to compute. Add one, then run the visual again. |
| You see | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| Max fields reached | The well already holds as many fields as it takes, so the drop cannot land. Remove a field from the well, or place the new field in a well that still has room. |
| Drop a field or measure here to bind data | The visual shows its standing drop hint; no fields are bound yet. Drop a column or measure from BI tables anywhere on the visual. |
| This measure was deleted from the semantic model. It is skipped when the chart runs; recreate a measure with the same name or remove the field. | The field chip points at a measure that no longer exists, so the visual skips it while it runs. Recreate a measure with the same name, or remove the field from the well. |
| This measure is invalid: it references a missing measure, or its name now collides with a column or BI table name in the model. It is skipped when the chart runs until it is fixed. | The chip is broken because what it points at no longer resolves in the model. Fix the measure in the model, or remove the field from the well. |
| N visuals selected. Select a single visual to edit its fields and formatting. | Several visuals are selected at once, and the panel can edit one visual at a time. Select exactly one visual; its fields, format and general settings open in the panel. |
| Filters-panel visuals are always slicers. | The selected visual lives in the Filters panel, so its type is fixed to a slicer and its Fields tab is not offered. Edit its settings on the Visual tab; a panel filter keeps its own column. |
| You do not have permission to author custom visuals | Adding a custom visual needs Author DataPrism Custom Visuals. Ask an administrator to add the permission to your role. See Custom visuals and the visual library. |
| A field-parameter slicer runs no query | A field parameter slicer lists the parameter's entries rather than column values, so Values per load sizes nothing. The row keeps its value for a slicer that lists column values again. |
| Applies when the Legend well is empty and Applies when the Legend well holds a field | The page row and the Rows per load with a legend window apply in turn, depending on whether Legend holds a field. Change the well to make the change apply, or read the note as it stands. |
| Applies when Rows or Columns hold a field and Applies to the list, tile and dropdown styles | A limit row that cannot apply in the current configuration: the matrix's Rows per load needs a field in Rows or Columns, and Values per load sizes only the list, tile and dropdown slicer styles. The note replaces the help line until the configuration changes. |
| Reset to default (20) and Default 20 · max 1,000 | The reset control beside a limit row, and the help line naming the default and the largest value the row accepts. Read it before raising a value. |
| Where the scale starts and ends, and what each end reads from. and A ramp between two ends, or a list of thresholds you set yourself. | What the two scale ends of a background or data-bar format do, and the two Fill styles of a background format. Pick Lowest value, Highest value or Number for each end, then choose Gradient or Rules. |
| No rules yet, so nothing is painted. Add one to get started. | The rule list is empty, so the format paints nothing. Add a threshold with New rule. |
| Tested top to bottom; a cell takes the first row it matches. | Rule order decides the paint: the first matching row wins. Reorder the rules to change which one wins. |
| The axis only appears when the range crosses zero; otherwise bars grow from whichever end sits closest to it. | When the data-bar axis colour is drawn. Nothing to fix; the axis shows only while the range crosses zero. |
| Pick a colour first | The Apply-to toggles in Column formatting are disabled because the column has no colour yet. Pick a colour in Colour, then set the toggles. |
| Turn on a row or column grand total in the Matrix section / Turn on Grand total in the Table section | Apply to totals has nothing to paint without a grand total. Switch the matching grand total on in the Matrix or Table section. |

|---|---|
| Format only applies to line and area charts. This chart type ignores it. | The Line style format section is shown for every chart, but only line and area charts use it. Change the chart type, or leave the section alone. |
| Format settings returned too large to apply safely; the previous settings are kept. | The saved format was bigger than the app applies in one pass, so the last good settings stayed. Simplify the format, or reload the visual and try again. |
| Format changed elsewhere | The format changed since it was loaded, so applying would overwrite that change. Reopen the format pane to load the newer settings, then repeat your change. |
| A custom size must be between 6 and 200 pixels. | A category label size is outside the allowed range. Choose a size between 6 and 200 pixels. |
| invalid format settings: ... (followed by what is wrong) | A hand-made format request did not pass its check; a setting was out of range or of the wrong kind. Fix what the sentence names and apply again. |
| Custom date pattern (up to 64 characters). | The help line of the custom date pattern field. Type up to 64 characters using the tokens dd, MM, yyyy, HH, mm. |
| No dynamic format matches this value; the static format is used. | The dynamic-format rules had no row for this value, so the static number format applies. Check the rule ranges if the value should be formatted dynamically. |
| Dynamic formats need a field of the visual; without one the static format applies. | The dynamic format follows a field of the visual. Bind the field it needs, or accept the static format. |
| Only two visuals can be compared. | A third visual was added to the comparison. Compare takes exactly two; remove one. |
| This visual type cannot be compared. | The visual is not one the compare view draws, a matrix or a custom visual for example. Pick another visual, or compare its kind from the visual library. |
| Save the visual before comparing it. | A draft visual cannot be compared. Add it to the report first, then compare it. |
| This visual cannot be compared with itself. | The same visual was picked on both sides of the comparison. Pick two different visuals. |
| This visual is already used in the comparison. | The visual is already on the other side of the compare view. Pick a different visual, or close the compare view first. |
| The visual comparison needs a larger screen. Open this page on desktop to compare visuals. | The comparison view only opens on desktop-sized screens. Open the page on a desktop-sized screen to use it. |
| Loading visual comparison… | The comparison view is loading both runs. Wait; the panels fill when both are in. |

| The compare view is read-only. | Edits are not available while comparing; the view shows how each side runs. Close it to make changes. |

| Cell formatting applies everywhere this column is used. | A change to a BI table column's formatting shows in every report that reads the column, not only the current visual. Confirm the change is what the table should look like everywhere. |
| The selected columns have no style settings | Column formatting was opened over columns that carry nothing to change, so the panel has nothing to edit. Select the table's cells that have formatting, or set a style first. |
| N columns selected. A rule applies to the whole selection; thresholds read the first column only. | Rules paint every selected column, while a threshold value is taken from the first column. Apply to one column at a time, or accept the shared paint. |
| Applying a type override re-derives the column's BI type from the data and changes it for every report that reads the column. | The override is model-wide, not per-visual. Apply it only when the column should change everywhere; ask a model editor if you do not own the model. |
| Column formatting changed elsewhere | Someone changed the same column's formatting while the panel was open, so your change was not applied. Reopen the panel to load the newer settings, then repeat it. |
| The format was reset to the BI type's default. | The override was cleared and the column reads its BI type again. Nothing to fix; set a new style if you need one. |
| Fit all columns to contents. | The menu action that sizes every column to its widest value. Click it; the widths are part of your personal view until an author saves them. |

| Funnel steps were limited to the display maximum (100). | A funnel draws at most 100 steps. Narrow the category field with a filter so that fewer steps remain. |
| Funnel step N was merged into Others because the display maximum (100) was reached. | The steps past the limit were merged into an Others bar. Filter the category field if you need the real steps. |
| The funnel could not be ranked; showing category order instead. | The value field could not rank the steps, so the funnel lists them in category order. Check the value field and its format. |
| This funnel has no value field, so nothing can be drawn. | Add a measure or a summarizing column to the funnel's value well. |
| Matrix needs at least one row or column field. | The matrix has no rows or columns to place its values. Add a field to Rows or Columns. |
| Totals in the matrix follow the loaded rows. | The matrix computes its totals over the rows it loaded, not the whole table. Raise Rows per load or narrow the report filters if a total must cover everything. |
| A KPI tile shows one big number; add a measure or a summarizing column. | The KPI has nothing to compute. Add a measure or a column with an aggregation to its value well. |
| Pick a root node to open the key tree. | The tree needs a starting node. Click a node in the visual, or use Go to root; it opens on a root node by default. |
| This branch cannot go deeper: every member is already shown. | The node has no further level to split by. Add a field to Explain by if the branch should continue. |
| The key tree needs a hierarchy: add fields to the levels or a parent-child column pair. | The tree has nothing to walk. Bind a level field, or a parent and a child column. |
| Tables page their rows; the export loads the whole result. | A table page shows only part of its result; Export covers everything the visual loaded. Use the pager, or export. |
| Show details | The link under a failed chart opens the details of its last run. It appears only when there is a failed run with details to show. |
| Explore data is read-only: changes here do not save to the report. | The explore view runs the visual's question without editing the report. Inspect the rows; edits belong in the report editor. |
| Filters here apply only to this view. | The explore view's filters narrow what you inspect and are not saved. The report keeps its own filters. |
| Clear sort | The control that removes the field's sort and returns it to its default. Click it; sorting is part of your personal view. |
| The sort order is your view until an author saves it. | Sorting, paging and search are personal; they do not change the report unless you save it. Save if the order should be the report's default. |

| Preview needs a location field. and Preview needs a latitude and a longitude column. | The map's preview has nothing to place. Add a location field, or both coordinate columns, then preview again. |
| The map needs a location field; add Country, Region, City or coordinates. | The map has no location bound. Bind a place field, or latitude and longitude columns. |
| Locations: N placed, M not placed. | The readout under a rendered map: part of the values did not match a location. Open the not-placed list, fix the values, and refresh. |
| Not placed | The list of values the map could not place. Check the spelling and the location column; empty values appear here. |
| Some locations could not be placed on the map. | Part of the values matched nothing. Open the not-placed count under the map and fix the values, or check the location column. |
| The location field must hold place names or coordinates, not both. | A single column cannot mix place names and coordinates. Use two coordinate columns, or a place-name column alone. |
| Map style is not available; pick another style. | The chosen style is switched off for this DataMind OS. Pick another map style. |
| This map style is not licensed on this deployment. | The style is switched off. Ask an administrator to turn it on; use a style that is on until then. |
| Map data from OpenStreetMap and its contributors. | The attribution line the map shows; keep it visible when you present or export the map. |
| Buildings are only drawn from a certain zoom level. | Zoom in until the buildings appear; the threshold is the map's, not a setting. |
| 3D needs a map style that supports it. | Pick a style that draws buildings in 3D; the toggle has no effect on the other styles. |
| Show all labels | The control that draws every label even where they collide; use it when the map is too dense to read. |

| You do not have permission to edit this table. | Editing columns needs Edit Warehouse Tables, or Edit Lake Tables for Lake tables. Ask for it. |
| Column name is required and A column with this name already exists | The column edit was refused. Type a name, or choose one that is not already taken; names are compared without case. |
| This column cannot be deleted because a dictionary or a foreign key uses it. | Something depends on the column. Remove the dependency first; the message names it. |
| Deleting this column removes it from every report that uses it. | Column deletes reach the reports that read them. Confirm only when the column should go everywhere. |
| PII columns are masked in the preview. | Preview rows hide values of PII-classified columns; reports apply their own masking. Nothing to fix. |
| The column is marked PII; masks apply in reports. | The sensitivity tag travels with the column. Ask an administrator if the data should not be classified so. |
| A foreign key needs another table's column to point at. | Pick the target table and column for the key; the shapes of the two columns must fit. |
| You cannot point a foreign key at a column you cannot read. | The target column is outside your access. Choose one you can read, or ask for access. |
| Permission groups on this column are inherited from its table. | A column cannot loosen its own access. Change the table's groups, or ask an administrator. |
| Members of the listed groups read the column; everyone else reads a masked value. | The column's permission groups decide who reads what. Edit the groups if the wrong people see the value. |
| The expression is valid. and The expression is not valid: ... | The computed-column check passed or failed; the reason follows the sentence. Fix what it names, then save. |
| Computed columns read their own table's columns. | A computed column can only use its own table's columns and the functions offered. Rewrite the expression with what the table has. |
| Not deployed and Deploying… | The dictionary is not yet readable by reports, or is being deployed. Wait for Deployed; reports that need it fill in when it lands. |
| Deploy failed | The dictionary did not deploy. Read the reason, fix the column or expression it names, and deploy again. |
| Deployed | The dictionary is up to date and readable. Nothing to do. |
| A dictionary column change deploys with the dictionary, not with the table. | Column edits on a dictionary go live with its next deploy. Deploy the dictionary to apply them. |
| Drop table? with "..." and everything it carries will be removed. This cannot be undone. | The confirmation before dropping a table. Confirm only when the table should go; its data is gone with it. |
| This table is still referenced. Remove the references first. | Reports, dictionaries or other tables read this table, so the drop is refused. The message names the references; remove them first. |
| The table is locked while a refresh or backfill runs. | A running job holds the table. Wait for it to finish, then repeat the change. |
| Deleting items here removes them for everyone. | Deletes in the workspace apply to all members. Confirm only when the items should go for everyone. |
| Skip indexes apply to new writes; existing rows change over time. | A new skip index or a refreshed view takes effect as data is rewritten. Nothing to fix; the effect arrives with the next refresh. |
| Refreshing view "..." is already running. | The refresh for that view is in progress, so a second request was refused. Wait for it to finish. |
| The refresh was queued; the view updates in the background. | Nothing to watch; the view shows fresh data when the run finishes. Check the run log if you need the result. |
| No run to show yet and Run details are kept for a limited time. | The table has no runs, or the run's details have rolled off. Run a refresh, or read what the log still holds. |
| Failed: ... (run log entry) | The run failed and the sentence names the reason. Fix what it names, then run again. |
| Ask AI about this result | The popup's prompt box: type what to ask about the rows. Answers explain the data and never change the table. |
| AI answers here never change the table. | The prompt answers are read-only advice. Ask an administrator for access if the prompt is not available. |

| Query failed - contact an administrator (ClickHouse error code N) | The database refused the query and the details were masked, so the error names only a code. Retry once; if it keeps failing, give the code to your administrator. |
| Limit for JOIN exceeded ... | The database stopped the query because its join grew past the server's join limit. Add filters or remove fields so fewer rows are joined, then refresh the visual. |
| the expression is not allowed: pipelined SQL (|>) and FROM-first queries are not allowed in measures | The measure's SQL uses pipeline syntax or a FROM-first query, which measures do not allow. Rewrite it as one SELECT . expression. |
| raw SQL is not allowed: pipelined SQL (|>) and FROM-first queries are not allowed in raw SQL | Raw SQL used pipeline syntax or a FROM-first query. Rewrite it as a single SELECT . statement. |
| forbidden table function name | The SQL used a table function the platform does not allow. Rewrite the query without it. |
| Measure "..." calls rank() with an argument | A model check flags a measure that passes an argument to rank(); newer databases refuse that. Fix: Write rank() with no arguments and put the ranked expression in the window ORDER BY, for example rank() OVER (ORDER BY <expression> DESC). |
| Raw SQL runs as you, with your own access to the tables. | A raw query is not rerouted through the model's owner role. If it sees fewer tables than expected, ask for access to them, or add them to the model. |

| Pick the RLS group the token is limited to, or All data. and Pick either one RLS group or All data, not both. | A token needs one scope: one group or all data. Choose one. |
| You belong to no RLS group on this model, so you cannot create chart API tokens on it. | You are not in any group of this model. Ask a model editor. |
| Only members of the main RLS group can create an All data token. | Only main group members can create an all-data token. Limit the token to a group you belong to, or ask a model editor. |

| Copy the token now; it is shown only once. | A chart API token's value is visible at creation only. Copy it into your tool; if it is lost, revoke the token and create another. |
| Token created and Token revoked | The token was created or revoked. A revoked token stops working at once; create a new one if it is still needed. |
| Could not create the token and Could not revoke the token | The token action failed; the description names the reason. Fix what it names, or retry. |
| You do not have permission to manage API tokens. | Managing chart API tokens needs Manage DataPrism API Tokens. Ask for it. |

| Token name is required. | The new token has no name. Type a name; it is how you recognise the token in the list. |
| Copied to clipboard and Copy failed | The copy from the token or export dialog worked, or did not. Copy again; if it keeps failing, select the text by hand. |
| The export is ready and Download | The prepared file is ready to download. Use Download; prepared exports are removed on their own after a while. |
| Export not found and The export link has expired. Prepare the export again. | The prepared export is gone. Start the export again from the report. |
| Only the person who started the export can download it. | Exports are private to their author. Ask them to download it, or prepare your own. |
| The data export needs a saved report. Save it first. | The server-side export reads the saved report, so unsaved changes are not included. Save the report, then export. |
| Preparing data... | The data export is being prepared on the server. It arrives as a download when it is ready; the dialog can be closed while it runs. |
| A visual read through a chart API token uses the token's data scope, not yours. | The token was limited to a row-level security group or All data; the rows it reads follow that scope. Pick a scope that matches what the reader should see. |

|---|---|
| Backfill started and Backfill finished | A backfill rewrites history for the table: it reads old rows and writes new ones without touching live queries. When it finishes, the new data is in place. |
| The backfill failed. | The run stopped early. Read the reason, fix it, and start the backfill again; what it wrote so far stays. |
| Skip index created | The index exists now and applies to new writes; older rows pick it up as they are rewritten. Nothing more to do. |
| Estimate cost | The control that measures what a query would read before running it. Use it before a heavy raw query; the estimate counts rows and bytes, not time. |
| The cost estimate is not available for this query. | The estimate could not be computed, so the query was not measured. Nothing changed; run the query if you accept it. |
| The query reads a large part of the table. | The estimate came back high. Narrow the query with filters, or accept the read before running it. |
| Refreshing view... | The materialised view is being rebuilt from its query. Wait; the view shows fresh data when the run finishes. |
| The view refresh failed. | The rebuild stopped. Read the reason, fix the query, and refresh again; the old view stays readable meanwhile. |

| Only a DataPrism Administrator can disable a custom visual. | Disabling a custom visual needs Disable DataPrism Custom Visuals. Ask someone who holds it. |
| Bundle too large | A .dpvisual file must be 8 MB or less. Choose a smaller bundle. |
| Import failed | The .dpvisual file is not valid. Read the description, then use a file exported from the visual library. |
| Could not insert the visual, Could not change the library pin, Delete failed and Save failed | The library action did not finish. Read the description and retry. |
| A dependant report was saved while the publish was running; retry the publish. | Someone saved a report that uses this visual during the publish. Publish again. |
| Only a published custom visual can be deprecated. | Publish the visual first, or delete the draft. |
| Large asset | The uploaded file is large. Every frame that references it downloads its own copy, and a visual may transfer at most 8 MB of assets. Use smaller files where you can. |
| SVG sanitised | DataPrism cleaned the SVG file on upload. Check that the picture still looks right. |
| Asset not uploaded, Asset not deleted and Asset not downloaded | The asset action failed. Read the description and retry. |
| Theme not saved | Your theme pick did not save. Retry. |
| This tile is pinned to v1 | The promote dialog saved this tile's code to the library as a draft at version 1 and pinned the tile to it. Publish the draft from the library page when it is ready. |
| Enter a name for the visual | The promote dialog cannot add the visual because the Name field is empty. Type a name, or keep the one seeded from the tile's title. |
| Fix the blocking checks first | A blocking library check fails, such as a literal colour in the code. Open the Studio, fix what the check flags, apply the code and promote again. |
| A data-bound visual needs sample rows for its gallery thumbnail and preview. | A visual with data roles has no sample stored, so the library check blocks it. Keep the sample switch on, or save a version that stores sample rows, then publish. |
| Sample rows are still loading | The dialog is still fetching the first 50 rows it stores as the sample. Wait for the fetch, or turn the sample switch off if the visual should not store rows. |
| Name is required, Name is too long (200 characters max) and Description is too long (2000 characters max) | The Add to visual library form refused the input. Type a name of 200 characters or fewer and a description of 2,000 or fewer. |
| Replace is unavailable: this version changes the data roles or options, so dependant tiles would lose their bindings. | The version is breaking versus the pinned tiles, so replace mode cannot run. Publish it as a new version; each report moves to it when someone reviews the update. |
| Library visuals must use theme tokens. Remove every literal colour (or mark brand artwork with / uni-allow: literal-color /) before publishing. | Publishing is blocked while the code contains literal colours. Replace the colour with the theme token the finding suggests, or annotate brand artwork on its line with /. |
| This visual is still pinned by report tiles. Detach them or publish a replacement first. | Delete is refused because at least one report tile still pins the visual. Update or detach those tiles, or publish a replacement version. |
| No published version yet | The library visual has no published version, so the picker cannot insert it. Open the visual in the library and publish a version first. |
| Assets missing from this report | The version references uploaded files the report does not hold, so the visual shows them as missing. Upload the listed files to the report's assets; the warning ends when they are present. |
| Map its roles in the Data well. | An inserted library visual expects fields bound to its roles before it can draw. Bind the fields in the tile's Data well. |
| Assets this report is missing: names . | The inserted visual references asset files this report does not hold. Upload the missing files in the Visual assets dialog for this report. |
| Nothing here matches your search | The library search found no visual. Clear the search or try another term; search covers names, descriptions, families and authors. |
| Update available | The library has a newer published version than the one this tile pins. Open the chip to Review update and choose Update, Update all in report or Detach. |
| Paused to keep the page responsive and Activate | The tile waits for a free sandbox frame because the page already runs about eight custom visual frames. Choose Activate to start it now, or leave it; it starts on its own as slots free up. |
| Preview unavailable | A preview image could not be captured for the card. Open the visual to see it rendered with data. |

|---|---|
| Copy visual | Tile menu entry that copies this custom visual's definition, field bindings and asset names; the system clipboard is used first, with an in-app fallback. Paste it onto any page of this or another report. |
| Paste visual | Adds the copied custom visual to the page you are on; it sits on the tile menus and in the Custom group of the Visualizations pane. Copy a custom visual first. |
| Not a custom visual (detail Copy visual works on custom visual tiles only.) | Copy works on custom visual tiles only, never on other tile types. Pick a custom visual tile and copy it. |
| Nothing to copy (detail This tile has no visual definition yet.) | The custom visual has no definition yet, so there is nothing to move. Write the code in the Studio and apply it, then copy. |
| Visual copied (note Paste it onto any page of this or another report.) | The copy succeeded; asset files are copied when you paste into another report. Paste on the target page. |
| The system clipboard is unavailable; paste works in this tab only. | The browser blocked the system clipboard write, so the copy was kept in this tab's memory. Paste in the tab you copied from. |
| Nothing to paste (detail Copy a custom visual first.) | There is no copy on the clipboard or remembered in this tab. Copy a custom visual tile first. |
| Visual pasted (detail The tile was added to this page.) | The visual was added to the current page. Nothing to do; continue editing the report. |
| Assets not copied (detail The visual was pasted, but its assets could not be copied from the source report.) | Add the visual's asset files to the report it landed in. |
| Assets: N copied, N already present, N missing on the source. | The cross-report paste summary of the visual's asset files. If any are missing on the source, add those files where the visual needs them. |
| Exported fileName | The library version was downloaded as a .dpvisual bundle. Keep or send the file. |
| Imported "name" as a draft | The bundle was added to the library as a new draft visual. Review the draft, then publish it like any other library visual. |
| The file is not valid JSON., Unsupported .dpvisual format version., The bundle has no readable visual definition., The sample rows are malformed. and The bundle carries no integrity block. | The bundle did not pass its checks, so nothing was imported. Use a file exported from the visual library. |
| Integrity check failed for file (including Integrity check failed for the bundle manifest.) | A file inside the bundle changed after export. Export the version again and use that file. |
| Import / Importing... | The gallery toolbar control that reads a .dpvisual file; it shows only for people who can author custom visuals. Pick a file and wait for the confirmation. |

| Code only, Code and preview side by side and Preview only | The layout tooltips of the Studio layout control: the editor without the preview, both side by side, or the preview without the editor. Switch layouts from that control. |
| Save as new version | Saves the draft as a new version of the library visual; the published head only moves through Publish. Publish from the library page when the version is ready. |
| No changes to save | The save button is disabled because nothing changed. Edit a file first. |
| Saving... | A new version of the library visual is being saved. Wait for the save to finish. |
| Loading report / Loading studio | The Studio is loading the report, or its own editing environment. Wait for the load to finish. |
| No assets yet | The report has no uploaded assets. Drop files in the dialog and reference them as asset://file-name in markup or CSS, or by name in a uni.assets call. |
| Loading visual assets | The report's asset list is loading. Wait for the dialog to fill in. |
| Drop files here, or click to pick them | The upload area is idle. Drop files or click to choose them; files upload one at a time. |
| Uploading... | Files are uploading one by one. Wait; a single failed file does not stop the rest. |
| n asset(s), size in total. | The totals line of the assets dialog. Compare it with the transfer budget line below it. |
| Above 2 MB: every frame that references this asset downloads its own copy. | The tooltip of the large badge on an asset above 2 MB. Compress or replace the file. |
| A visual referencing all of them would exceed the 8.0 MB transfer budget. | The report's assets together pass what one visual may transfer. Remove or compress files the visual does not need. |
| Use this asset | Pick mode: attaches the file to the code being edited and closes the dialog. Select the card before you return to the editor. |
| Copy reference to fileName | Copies the asset:// reference to the clipboard. Paste it into markup or CSS. |
| Reference copied and Reference not copied (detail Clipboard is not available.) | The reference is on the clipboard, or copying failed. Copy the reference manually if it failed. |
| Download fileName and Delete fileName | The card actions that download the stored file, or open its delete confirmation. Download it to inspect the file outside the product; delete only if no visual needs it. |
| Delete this asset? | The file will be removed from the report; visuals referencing it will show it as missing. Upload the file again to restore it. |
| Could not load (detail This image could not be loaded.) | The card could not render the asset. Re-upload the file if it does not recover. |
| File missing (detail The stored file behind this asset is gone.) | The stored file behind the asset is gone. Upload the file to the report again. |
| binary | The asset is not an image, so its card carries a binary badge. Read it in the code with uni.assets.bytes(name). |
| Toggle diagnostics, Close diagnostics and Diagnostics ( N ) | The drawer that lists what the failing tile reported, and its live entry count. Read the entries, then fix what they name; the list empties on a clean run. |
| No entries yet | The tile has not reported anything to the drawer. Refresh the report or the tile, then open the drawer again once the visual has rendered. |
| Open studio | Jumps from a failing tile into its code; shown only to people who can edit the report. Fix the code and apply it to the tile. |
| The AI for this visual could not be opened. | The AI panel could not open its conversation for this tile. Reload the report and try again; each tile keeps one conversation. |
| Loading assistant | The Studio's assistant column is loading before it can show the conversation. Wait a moment; the column opens by default when you may use AI. |
| This visual belongs to a report that is not open. Open the report to keep editing it. | The Studio for this tile works only beside the report open in your tab. Use Open report to go to it, then keep editing; the Studio minimises itself until then. |
| This tile is no longer in the report, so there is nothing to edit here. | The tile was removed from the report while the Studio was open. Close the Studio; open the report and check where the tile went. |
| AI is editing - the editor is read-only until the turn finishes | An assistant turn is editing this visual, so the editor and Apply, undo and redo are locked. Wait for the turn to finish, then review the code. |
| You have unapplied edits; the AI works from the applied code | The assistant reads the code applied to the tile, not your unapplied editor edits. Apply your edits first if the assistant should build on them. |
| error - fix the JSON before editing as a form. | options.json does not parse, so the Form view cannot open. Fix the JSON in the JSON view; the form returns. |
| Tile changed | The tile's saved code and your local edit both changed for the same file, so they cannot be merged silently. Choose Reload from tile to take the tile's version, or Keep mine to keep your edit. |
| Restore unsaved visual code from date time ? | A draft for this tile differs from its saved code and can be loaded back into the editor. Restore loads it, or Dismiss drops the draft. |
| The visual has edits that were not applied to the report. Apply them to the tile, or close and lose them. | You are closing the Studio with unapplied code. Apply & Close applies and closes, or Close Anyway closes without applying. |
| Saving writes a new report version; closing without saving keeps the changes in this tab only. | The visual is applied to the tile but the report itself is unsaved. Save & Close records a version; Close Without Saving keeps the change untracked in this tab. |
| No versions yet with A version is saved every time the report is saved with this visual's code applied. Save the report after Apply and it will appear here. | The version history comes from report saves, so it is empty until the report is saved after Apply. Save the report; older entries load with Load older versions. |
| Could not load the version history. | The version list failed to load. Open the drawer again. |
| the visual answered with a non-PNG export / Export failed | The preview export did not produce a PNG, so no file was saved. Run the preview again and retry Export preview. |
| Cannot convert this tile | The conversion was refused and the report was not changed. Read the reason under it and convert a tile that supports it; a chart tile on a report page is the normal case. |
| This tile is already a custom visual. | The tile you tried to convert is itself a custom visual. Use Edit code on the tile instead. |
| Slicers cannot be converted into a custom visual., Containers cannot be converted into a custom visual., Filter-canvas tiles cannot be converted. and The preview tile cannot be converted. | The tile type cannot be converted. Convert a chart tile on a report page, or insert a new custom visual tile. |
| Custom visual created | The conversion succeeded; a sibling tile with the same fields was added and its Studio is open. Continue in the Studio, then Apply and save the report. |
| A sibling tile with the same fields was added and its studio is open. The AI thread starts with the captured screenshot and the chart configuration. | The success description when the source tile was captured. Work from the seeded thread; the picture and the chart's configuration are already in it. When the capture failed, the sentence says so, and The source tile could not be captured, so work from the configuration below. appears in the thread with the configuration alone. |

| uni.on: unknown event " name " | uni.on was given an event name that is not one of the render events. Use one of data, size, theme, selection, filters, options, state, reset or mode. |
| uni.data.field(" name "): no such field. Available fields: names | A field was asked for by an id or a label that the bound fields do not carry, or a label that is not unique. Use the id or the unique label the list names. |
| uni.data.requestMore() is not available in SDK v1; the row limit is fixed by the tile | The visual asked for more rows; the call resolves false and only records this warning. Set the row count under General > Limits on the tile. |
| uni.slicer: this visual is not a slicer (set interactions.role to "slicer" in the Visual pane) | A slicer call was made on a tile that is not in the slicer role. Switch the tile to the slicer role on the Visual tab, or use uni.. |
| uni.slicer. method : bind a dimension to the Data well first | The tile is a slicer but has no filterable dimension to key the selection on. Add a dimension to the Data well. |
| uni.slicer. method : expects an array of at most 1000 values | A slicer set carried more values than the cap. Send at most 1,000 values in one set. |
| uni.slicer.set: unknown operator " op " use one of operators | The operator is not one of the supported slicer operators. Use in, eq, neq, between, gt, lt, gte, lte, isnull or notnull. |
| uni.select: selection is disabled for this visual (interactions.select = false) | Selection is switched off for the tile, so the mark was not sent. Turn selection on for the tile, or check uni.. |
| uni.state.set: state would be N bytes, above the 16384-byte cap; keep only what the visual needs to restore itself | The viewer state patch would push the tile's saved state past 16 KB. Store only what restores the visual. |
| uni.theme: unknown token " name ". Available: names | A colour or token name was asked for that the report's theme does not define. Use one of the names the message lists. |
| uni.assets.json: unknown asset " name " | A JSON asset was asked for that is not attached to this visual. Attach the file, or check the name with uni.. |
| uni.assets.json(" fileName "): message | The asset exists but does not parse as JSON. Fix the file's JSON and attach it again. |
| uni.mount: expected a template from uni.html or uni.unsafeHtml | mount received something that is not a template built by uni. or uni.. Build the template first, then mount it. |
| uni.icon: unknown icon " name ". Available: names | The name is not in the bundled icon set. Use one of the listed names. |
| uni.image: host " host " is not in the sandbox allowlist | The image's host is not on the sandbox allowed-hosts list. Ask an administrator to allow the host, or load from an allowed https host. |
| uni.image: url could not be loaded ( code ) | The image load was refused or failed; the code is host-not-allowed, not-https, not-an-image, too-large or upstream. Fix the address or the host; an upstream failure retries on the next load. |
| uni.embed: at most 32 embeds per visual; extra ones are ignored | The visual registered more than 32 embedded players. Remove embeds until at most 32 remain. |
| uni.embed: only https URLs can be embedded, got " url " and data-uni-embed: only https URLs can be embedded, got " url " | An embed was asked for with an address that is not https. Use an https address on an allowed host. |
| uni.openUrl: links are disabled for this visual (interactions.openUrl = false) | The visual tried to open a link while links are switched off for the tile. Switch on Allow links in the Studio's Interactions section, or check uni.. |
| uni.openUrl: only http(s) URLs are allowed, got " url " | uni.openUrl was given an address that is not an http or https URL. Pass an https address. |
| missing-ready and the visual did not call uni.ready() or finish a uni.render() within N ms | The visual never signalled readiness, so the run was reported failed with this reason. Signal readiness from the code; export and print allow a much longer deadline than a report on screen. |
| render -> uni.state.set -> render repeated N times in one frame; the loop was stopped | A paint kept setting state and re-triggering itself, so the loop was stopped. Set state from event handlers rather than from the paint. |
| libs-failed: " lib " is not allowlisted; nothing changed. Allowed: list . | The code declared a library outside the twelve allowlisted libraries. Use one of the allowlisted libraries. |
| template is N bytes; the limit is 98304 bytes | The template source is over its 96 KB cap. Trim the template below the cap and apply again. |
| template rendered more than N nodes; reduce the rows or the markup per row and more than 20000 nodes | The rendered template passed the 20,000-node budget, so the render stopped and kept the part it had built. Reduce what the template renders and render again. |
| data-uni-select=" field " needs a row or a group of that field in scope; put it inside data-uni-repeat | A template's select directive sits outside a repetition or group, so there is no row to read the value from. Move the element inside data-uni-repeat or a group. |
| data-uni-repeat=" expression " did not produce a list; use rows, groups('Field') or g.rows | The repeat directive's expression did not evaluate to a list. Use rows, groups('<Field>') or, inside a group repeat, g.. |
| unknown filter ' name ' | The filter name after the pipe is not one of the built-in filters. Use one of number, percent, abbrev, date, text, upper, lower, default or format. |
| " filter : digits " expects an integer between 0 and 20, got ' arg ' | The digits argument of a filter was not a whole number from 0 to 20. Pass a whole number between 0 and 20, such as number:2. |
the format filter needs a field: write row.<Field> | format, or | format:'<FieldId>' | The format filter was used without a field for it to take the format from. Attach it to a field, or name the field id. |
| unknown function ' name '; allowed functions: list | An expression called something that is not a built-in function, so compilation stops. Call one of the functions the message lists. |
| access to ' name ' is not allowed | An expression tried to read an internal member, such as __proto__, constructor or prototype. Read only the row's own fields; these names are refused both ways. |
| empty expression, unterminated string starting at column n and unexpected character ' character ' at column n | The expression could not be read. Write an expression inside the braces, close the quote, or fix the character at the column the message names. |
| expression nesting deeper than limit | An expression nested past the depth guard's limit was refused at compile time. Simplify it so it nests less deeply. |
| style value for ' name ' may not contain url(), expression() or javascript: | A style value contained a refused construct, so the element was dropped. Remove it; load outside images through data-uni-src. |
| @import is not allowed in template CSS; the rule was removed | The template's CSS carried an @import rule, which the renderer strips out. Template CSS cannot pull in outside stylesheets. |
data-uni-src needs an https URL or "asset:<name>", got ' value ' | An image binding was neither an https address nor an asset: reference. Use one of them, and make sure the host is allowlisted. |
| unknown asset ' name ' | The template referenced an asset that is not attached to this visual. Upload the file to the visual's assets, or fix the name in the reference. |
| data-uni-embed needs an https URL, got ' value ' | An embed binding was not a fixed https address. Use a static https address whose host is allowlisted. |
| unknown field ' name '; available fields: fields | The template read a field that is not among the row's fields; inside a repetition the item's context is appended. Use one of the available fields; unbound columns are not sent to the visual. |
| Link blocked / ... is not in the sandbox allowlist. An administrator can allow it under ... | A visual tried to open a link or load content from a host that is not on the sandbox allowed-hosts list. An administrator adds the host under Admin > System Configuration > Security (Sandbox Allowed Hosts). |
| Open this link? / Open link | A link or embed points to a host allowed only by the * pattern, so the viewer confirms first, once per report. Open link continues; anything else leaves it closed. |
| Embed blocked | An embedded player was refused because its address is not https or its host is not on the sandbox allowed-hosts list. Allow the host the player finally loads from, or embed an https address on an allowed host. |
| uses label ; the sandbox CSP blocks it | The code called an API the sandbox forbids, such as fetch, document.cookie or localStorage. Remove the call and load what you need through the app. |
| references an external URL; the sandbox has no network | The code points at an external address instead of a load path the sandbox serves. Load images through the template's data-uni-src, or an img src on an allowlisted host. |
| uses an http URL; only https URLs on an allowlisted host are loaded | The address is http, not https. Use an https address whose host the allowlist covers. |
| host is not in the sandbox allowlist | Code loads something from a host the allowlist does not cover. Add the host to Sandbox Allowed Hosts, or load from an allowed host. |
| uses a javascript: URL | A link or loadable address uses the javascript: scheme. Use normal https addresses. |
uses <base>, which is refused | The code declares a <base> element, which the sandbox refuses. Remove it and use full addresses. |
| uses an inline name handler; register listeners from visual.js | Markup carries an inline event attribute, for example onclick, instead of a listener registered in visual.js. Register the listener from visual.js. |
| visual.js never calls uni.render() or uni.ready(); the host waits for a ready signal | The visual never signals that it has rendered, so the host keeps waiting. Call uni.render() or uni.ready() when the visual is ready. |
| uses the literal colour literal ; nearest theme token is -- token (or use a theme token) | The code uses a literal colour where a theme token is expected. Replace it with the suggested token, or mark the line with / when the colour must stay. |
| contains a password shape ; DataPrism never asks for credentials inside a report tile | Markup looks like a password or credential prompt. Remove the credential-shaped fields. |
| This visual declares no options. | The visual's options schema is empty, so the Visual options section has nothing to set. The author declares options when they are needed. |
| options.json must be a JSON object | The applied options file is valid JSON but not an object, so the apply was refused. Edit options.json so the top level is an object. |
| options.json: " name " is required, options.json: " name " must be a type, options.json: " name " must be one of enum and options.json: " name " must be >= min / <= max | A required option has no value, or its value's type, choice or range does not match the schema. Give the option a value of the declared kind. |
| the visual definition could not be parsed | The saved visual definition could not be read, so the apply was refused. Reload the tile and open the Studio again. |
| visual. part is N bytes; the cap is cap | One source file passes its cap: visual.html 98304, visual.css 65536 or visual.js 131072 bytes. Trim the file below its cap. |
| source totals N bytes; the cap is 262144 | All source files together pass 256 KB. Trim the sources. |
| options schema exceeds 32768 bytes | The options schema passes 32 KB. Simplify the schema. |
| default state exceeds 16384 bytes | The default state the visual declares passes 16 KB. Keep only what the visual needs to restore itself. |
| rowLimit must be between 1 and 100000 | The row limit stored in the visual's definition is outside the allowed range. Set it between 1 and 100000. |
| metadata.customVisual exceeds 524288 bytes | The whole saved definition passes 512 KB. Reduce the definition: sources, schema, state or asset references. |
| N data roles; the cap is 16 | The visual declares more than 16 data roles. Remove roles until at most 16 remain. |
| N assets; the cap is 64 | The visual references more than 64 asset files. Remove unused asset references. |
| Custom visual " title " could not be pictured: did not answer in time (also did not finish before its deadline, refused the capture, was not running and has nothing to render) | The report export could not picture this visual; it reports the tile and the short reason as a warning and continues. Reload the report and export again; if it repeats, open the visual in the Studio. |
| Custom visual " id " is not running ( failure ); captured as placeholder | The tile was not running when the export reached it, so the picture shows a placeholder. Reload the report and export again. |
| Custom visual " id " did not call finished() within ms ms; captured as is | The visual did not say it finished drawing in time, so the export pictured it as it stood. Check that the code signals when it has finished, then export again. |
| Any file up to 20 MB, at most 20 files per drop | The upload limits for report assets: 20 MB per file, 20 files per drop. Split large files or upload in several drops. |

Chart API tokens are not available on models whose row-level security is SQL-based. Use a personal access token instead, as described in API tokens.
The request took too long. Try again, lower the row limits of the visual, or add filters so that less data is read. See Visuals.
The file is readable JSON, but it does not hold a report document, so there is nothing to import. Export the report again from DataMind OS and import that file. See Build a report.
The query joined more data than the server's join limit allows, so the database stopped it. Add filters or remove fields so fewer rows are joined, then refresh the visual. If it still fails, split the question across two visuals.
The server's answer arrived without the data the page expected. It is usually a one-off; retry once. If it keeps happening, tell your administrator.
