Language in Oda

DataMind Oda works in English today. This page explains how Oda chooses the language it runs in, and what you can change in the app.

How Oda chooses its language

Oda always runs its interface in English, whatever the language of your computer or browser is:

Oda also marks its interface as English, so screen readers and other assistive tools read the text as English.

What you can change

There is no language setting today: Settings > General shows no Language row, so there is nothing to pick. General settings covers the page and the settings it has.

Questions, answered

Can I change the language of DataMind Oda?

No. Oda works in English today, and there is no setting that changes it. Chat with Oda covers the choices a chat does offer, such as the model.

Why is Oda in English when my computer is set to another language?

Oda opens in English for everyone: it does not follow the language of your computer, and English is the only language it offers today.

Does Oda use my browser's language?

No. Oda does not read your browser's languages: its interface is set to English, whatever the browser is set to.

When does Oda choose its language?

It does not pick one: Oda opens in English and stays in English while it runs, and neither your computer nor your browser changes that.

What happens to a saved language that Oda does not offer?

A saved language that Oda does not offer is ignored: Oda runs in English, and the saved value changes nothing in the app.

Can I add another language to Oda?

Adding a language is plugin work: a language pack registers the language and its text with Oda. See Language packs for how a pack is added and the rules it follows.
