DataMind Oda in Excel signs in with your company's DataMind sign-in. This page shows how to sign in from the pane, how the pane keeps your sign-in on this computer, and what happens when you sign out.
If you close the sign-in window before finishing, the pane shows no message. Click Sign in to
DataMind again to start over. A sign-in that is not finished within 5 minutes is stopped, and the
pane shows Sign-in took too long and was stopped.
Click Sign out in the pane header. While it works, the button reads Signing out…. Signing out:
Your workbooks keep everything that is in them: the data Oda wrote or pulled, the notes about each pull and the Mind you chose for the workbook. Signing out of the pane does not sign you out of DataMind OS in your browser or of the DataMind Oda app on your computer.
The Excel chats on a computer belong to the account that made them. When a different DataMind
account signs in to the pane, Oda first deletes the chats the previous account left on this
computer, so one account never sees another's chats. If it cannot delete them, the pane does not
start and shows
Oda could not remove the chats another account left on this computer, so it did not start.
If the pane or the sign-in window shows a message while connecting, signing in, loading the model list, starting up or answering, Fix problems with Oda in Excel explains each message and what to do about it.
A sign-in that is not finished within 5 minutes is stopped, so the button never stays stuck on

No. After you sign in, the pane remembers the sign-in on this computer, so it opens signed in.
No. The sign-in is remembered on this computer, not per workbook, so the pane opens signed in in every workbook once you have signed in.
Yes. The pane remembers your sign-in on the computer where you signed in; on another computer, sign in there too.
Your DataMind server refused to renew the sign-in, for example because it was revoked or has expired, so the pane signed you out. Sign in again. In a locked-down environment where the pane cannot store the sign-in, it lasts only until the pane closes.
The Excel chats stored on this computer, for every workbook, and the sign-in itself. Your workbooks are not touched: the data in them, the notes about each pull and the Mind chosen for each workbook stay.
No. Sign out ends the pane's sign-in only, on this computer and on your DataMind server. Your DataMind OS session in the browser and the DataMind Oda app on your computer stay signed in.
Yes. Signing out needs only a working sign-in, not any DataMind Oda permission, so the pane's sign-in is still revoked on your DataMind server.
Either you signed out, which deletes the Excel chats on this computer, or a different DataMind account signed in to the pane on this computer, which deletes the chats the previous account left.
No. You do not need to: when the sign-in completes, the window closes and the pane opens the chat.
