When an answer needs the knowledge a Mind was trained on, the Mind searches its training cards and builds the answer on the passages it finds. It can also load a skill, a DataMind playbook that ships with the platform, to follow a fixed way of working.
Ask your question as usual. The Mind decides when to search, and the answer shows the search and the passages it used.
How the search step and its passage cards look, and how to open a passage in the Mind's Training Hub, is on Knowledge search and skills in chat.
The search reports why it came back empty, and each reason has its own message:
No relevant passages found in the knowledge base.No vectorized cards found under folder "<folder>".No vectorized knowledge is available for this mind.If searches keep coming back empty, add cards on the Mind's Training Hub tab (Train a Mind with training cards), and review Similar results limit and Minimum similarity score in AI Config (Choose models and AI behaviour).
A skill is a playbook that ships with the platform. Start a chat with one already loaded:
/ star-schema in a Warehouse Builder chat. The command reads "Use the Star schema skill: design and build a semantic model".Each chat has its own catalogue of skills, and only the skills that fit the chat appear in the menu. The commands each chat offers are listed on Chat commands, shortcuts and privacy. A skill that cannot start from a slash command says so: the skill "<name>" cannot be started with a slash command.
No. The Mind searches its Vectorized training cards by itself when an answer needs them, and the search appears as a step in the answer.
Yes. When a search is narrowed to one folder, the Mind reads that folder and its subfolders only. If the folder holds no searchable cards, the search says so, and you can check the folder path or add cards there.
Every passage names the training card it came from, the folder the card sits in and the card's tags. The Mind builds its answer on these passages.
Three cases have their own messages: No relevant passages found in the knowledge base. means nothing matched closely enough, No vectorized cards found under folder "<folder>". means the folder holds no searchable cards, and No vectorized knowledge is available for this mind. means the Mind has no Vectorized training cards yet. Rephrase the question, check the folder, or add cards in the Mind's Training Hub.
Type / in the message box and choose the skill, or type its name after the slash, for example /. The skill joins your message as a pill, and sending the message starts the conversation with the skill loaded.
That skill is not offered for slash commands in this chat. Each chat has its own catalogue, and the / menu lists only the skills that fit it. The chat answers the skill "<name>" cannot be started with a slash command. Start the skill from a chat that offers it, or leave it to the platform, which loads skills by itself when a task needs them.
No. A skill is never loaded twice in one turn. A repeat load adds nothing again, and the chip reads {title} v{version} already loaded.
No. A skill is a playbook that ships with the platform; it guides how a task is done. Training cards are the knowledge you give a Mind, and a knowledge search reads the Mind's Vectorized cards. See Train a Mind with training cards.
