The MariaDB source reads tables and views from a MariaDB server into the Lake. Use this page to fill in each field of the MariaDB form. The steps shared by every SQL engine are on Connect a SQL database.
Prerequisites
A MariaDB user with read access to the databases and tables you want to load.
The server accepts connections from DataMind on its port, usually 3306.
On the Connection step, click Test connection. The button reads Testing… while it runs.
Connection test passed means DataMind reached the server and signed in. Connection test failed shows the server's message with a copy button; fix the settings and test again.
On Datetime, check the summary: Name, Server, Database (or All databases), Username and Security.
The test is optional and never saves the source. To edit or duplicate the source later, see Connect a SQL database.
Questions, answered
Should I choose the MariaDB card or the MySQL card?
Choose the card that matches your server. Both forms have the same fields and both start on port 3306, but each source is recorded with its own engine. For a MySQL server, see Connect MySQL.
Where do my MariaDB databases appear in the Lake?
Each database appears as a database in the Lake tree with one schema named default, because MariaDB has no schemas inside a database. Your tables sit under that schema.
What happens if I leave Database empty?
The Lake lists every database the user can read, and you pick tables from any of them when you import. Enter a database name to keep the source to that one database.
Do I need to upload a certificate for SSL/TLS?
No. The MariaDB form has no certificate field. With SSL/TLS on, the connection is encrypted and the server certificate is not validated.
Can I send data back to MariaDB?
Yes. MariaDB is also offered as a Writeback destination, with the same connection fields. See Add and manage destinations.
