Read the documentation in DataMind OS

DataMind OS opens the DataMind documentation in a drawer on the right of the screen. The page you were working on stays where it is, and closing the drawer takes you straight back to it.

Open the documentation

On the Dashboard, click the Documentation card on the Playground. The drawer opens at Get started. Every signed-in user sees the card, and it needs no permission.

A bookmark or link to the old Documentation address opens the Dashboard with the drawer at Get started as well.

The same drawer opens from other places in DataMind OS:

To open a datamind.guide link in a new browser tab instead, hold Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) while you click it, or click it with the middle mouse button.

Move around the drawer

The bar at the top of the drawer holds its controls:

When the drawer is already open, a new link from a Mind answer, Ask AI or a tile opens on top of the current page, so Back returns to it. Closing the drawer clears that history.

When a page does not load

The drawer shows This page could not be loaded, with the reason below it.

Pages reach the drawer through your DataMind server, so the server needs HTTPS access to datamind.guide. For each reason, see Troubleshooting.

If a picture in a page cannot load, a box with its description, or Image failed to load, takes its place. The rest of the page reads normally.

Questions, answered

Where did the Documentation page go?

The documentation now opens in a drawer over the page you are on, instead of a page of its own. The Documentation card on the Playground and old links to the Documentation address open the drawer at Get started.

How do I go back to the previous page?

Click Back at the top left of the drawer. It appears once you have followed a link inside the drawer, and it steps back one page at a time.

Why is there no Back button?

You are on the first page you opened. Back appears only after you follow a link inside the drawer. Closing the drawer clears its history.

How do I close the drawer?

Click Close, the X at the top right, or press Escape. The page you were working on is still there behind it.

Can I search the documentation from the drawer?

No. The drawer shows one page at a time and has no search. To ask a question, use Ask AI in Universe or ask a Mind. See Ask questions about DataMind.

Why does a section turn highlighted when the page opens?

The link you followed pointed to that section, for example a source cited in an answer. The drawer scrolls to it and highlights it so you can find the cited part.

Can I copy a link to one section?

Yes. Point at the section heading and click its link button. The copied link opens that section on datamind.guide.

Why does the drawer say the documentation site is unreachable?

Your DataMind server cannot reach datamind.guide. Ask your administrator to allow HTTPS from the server to datamind.guide. Until then, click Open on datamind.guide to read the page from your own browser.
