Use this page to put your company's logo and name on decks and reports, and to set how DataMind OS looks with colour themes. The logo and the company name are set in System Configuration, and themes are managed in Theme Configuration or from the user menu's Change theme.
Each task needs its own permission. To give one, add it to a role (see Roles and permissions).
| To do this | You need |
|---|---|
| Open Theme Configuration and the Branding tab | System Settings Viewer |
| Upload or remove a company logo | Company Logo Manager |
| Change the company name | System Settings Manager |
| Create, apply, edit and delete your own themes | Nothing extra; Change theme works for every signed-in person |
| Publish or unpublish a theme, or edit and delete someone else's theme | Brand Theme Manager |
Without Company Logo Manager, you can see the logos but cannot upload or remove them. Without System Settings Manager, the Company Name field is read-only.
Upload two logos: one for light backgrounds and one for dark backgrounds.
Each slot shows Uploaded or Empty. A successful upload shows "Light theme logo updated." or "Dark theme logo updated.".
To remove a logo, click the trash icon on that slot and confirm in the dialog.
Where the logo appears:
The name can be up to 120 characters. DataMind OS removes spaces at the start and end when it saves, and shows "Company name updated.".
The name fills the Company field of every deck you create after you save it. See Design a deck for the deck fields.
Decks created before you change the name keep their old company name. Edit the Company field in the deck's properties to change it.
There are two kinds of theme. The built-in palettes, DataMind OS Light and DataMind OS Dark, are the standard looks of DataMind OS. Custom themes are palettes people create; a custom theme is one palette and never switches between light and dark.
To switch the built-in palette, open the user menu and choose Change theme, then click DataMind OS Light or DataMind OS Dark in the gallery. Switching between them clears a custom theme you had applied. Your theme stays in the gallery, and you can click its card to use it again.
The gallery lists the built-in palettes and the custom themes you can use.
Use the filters to narrow the list:
Search themes... matches a theme's name or its author's name. The user filter narrows the list to one or more authors; it reads Any user until you pick someone, and a Reset appears when you pick more than one.
To star a theme, click Add to favorites on its card. A count on the card shows how many people have starred it, once anyone has. The built-in palettes cannot be added to favourites.
With no custom themes yet, the gallery reads No themes yet and offers Create your first theme.
You can link straight into the editor: add ?edit=<themeId> to the Theme Playground address to open a theme you own or may publish, or ?create=1 to start a new theme. The parameter disappears once the editor opens.
To change a theme later, click Edit on its card, change the colours and click Save.
If the name field is empty, the save is refused with "Give your theme a name before saving.". Creating a theme with a name you already use does not make a second theme: your theme with that name is updated instead, and the message reads "Saved".
Click a theme card in the gallery to apply it. Clicking a custom card sets that palette for you and shows "Theme applied". A built-in card switches the built-in light or dark palette. Clicking the card that is already active does nothing.
Applying a theme changes your own interface only; other people keep the look they chose until they apply it themselves.
To return to the standard look, click Reset to default. The button appears while a custom theme is applied, the message reads "Default restored", and you return to the built-in palette in the light or dark version your theme was based on.
A theme is private until you publish it. Before that, only you and people who manage themes can see it; other people's galleries show published themes plus their own.
Publishing needs Brand Theme Manager. Without it, the publish button does not appear.
To unpublish, click the same button, now labelled Unpublish. When you unpublish your own theme, the message reads "Theme is now private." and anyone already using it keeps their colours. When you unpublish a theme that someone else published, DataMind OS asks you to confirm first.
To delete a theme, open it in the editor, click the trash button and confirm. Deleting cannot be undone. Deleting someone else's theme removes it from every gallery and every favourites list, and it cannot be recovered; deleting your own theme frees its name, so you can use the title again. If you delete the theme you were using, you return to the built-in palette.
The background pattern is not part of a theme. Choose it in the Background row at the top of the gallery: Grid, Graph, Isometric, Dots, Grain, Crosses, Stars, Ruled, Diagonal, Crosshatch or Plain, or keep Default.
The choice applies straight away, with no save step, and is remembered in this browser.
On decks and in reports. In a deck, it can sit on every slide, or on one slide with Logo on this slide; in a report, it sits in the footer while Show logo is on. Design a deck and Themes and presentation show both.
Reports use the one you uploaded on both light and dark backgrounds. Upload the second variant when you have it.
No. The name fills the Company field only in decks you create after you save it. Decks created earlier keep their old value; edit the Company field in the deck's properties to change one.
Switching between the built-in DataMind OS Light and DataMind OS Dark palettes clears a custom theme you had applied. Your theme is still in the gallery; click its card to use it again.
No. It changes your own interface only. Other people keep the look they chose until they apply the same theme themselves; publishing a theme only makes it available to them.
Only you, and people who manage themes. Other people's galleries show published themes plus their own.
Publishing needs Brand Theme Manager. Without it, the publish button does not appear in the editor. Ask an administrator for the permission, or ask someone who has it to publish the theme for you.
Creating a theme with a name you already use updates your theme with that name and reads "Saved". Renaming an existing theme to a name you already use fails with "Name already taken".
No. It disappears from everyone else's gallery, but anyone already using it keeps their colours.
Use a JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF file up to 5 MB and 8000×8000 px. The message names the limit the file broke.
Click Reset to default in the gallery. It appears while a custom theme is applied, and the message reads "Default restored".
Yes. Open the theme in the editor, click the trash button and confirm. Deleting cannot be undone, and if it was the theme you were using, you return to the built-in palette.
