When DataMind Oda makes a file for you, the end of the turn shows it as a card under the closing message of your chat. From the card you can preview the file, open it in its usual application, or show it in your file manager. This page covers those cards and the rules behind them.
After a turn that wrote files, the chat shows delivery cards under the closing message, next to the changed-files card when there is one:
Delivering while the files are marked, then Delivered, Delivery failed or Interrupted. Open the step to read what was recorded; where the view offers inspection, use Inspect call. The changed-files card is a different list: it covers every file a turn edited, not only the files Oda chose to hand over. See Review files Oda changed.
Opening… and then Open requested, and the note fades after a few seconds.Showing in file manager… and then Requested display in file manager. This Host has no desktop available to open files or folders in external apps. Files can still be previewed in the sidebar.; a file whose path cannot be verified says This file has no available Host path. Preview it in the sidebar.Could not open. Click to retry. or Could not show in file manager. Try again., and the action can be tried again. If Oda cannot read your computer's details at all, the card shows Could not read the Host desktop information with Retry. The open and reveal controls themselves are described in Open files and folders in other apps. For the preview pane and its viewers, see Preview files in the side panel; Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are converted for reading first (Preview Office documents).
Oda marks a file when a card helps you open the finished result, for example a document, a spreadsheet or a slide deck.
Cannot present <file. path>: not a regular file. A file that is missing reports Cannot present <file. path>: file not found. Check the path, create the file if needed, and retry.A delivery points at the file; it is not a copy. A shared or exported chat carries the list of delivered files, not their contents.
Oda often writes the delivered files' names in its closing message, and those names are clickable there too: clicking one opens the same sidebar preview.
Oda marks a file when a card helps you open the finished result, for example a document, a spreadsheet or a slide deck. It does not mark every file it edited; that list is the changed-files card, described in Review files Oda changed.
One delivery can carry up to eight files, and Oda is guided to mark at most four at a time. On the turn, more than four delivered files fold to the first four; click All {count} files to show them all.
Opening in an application needs a desktop that Oda can reach and a path it can verify on this computer. Without a desktop, the card says This Host has no desktop available to open files or folders in external apps., and a file whose path cannot be verified says This file has no available Host path. You can still preview the file in the side panel. See Open files and folders in other apps.
No. The card points at the file itself, so it always opens the current version, and nothing is copied into the chat. If the file is later moved or deleted, the card can no longer open it. A shared or exported chat carries the list of delivered files, not their contents.
It is the transcript's record of a delivery, titled Present files. The step reads Delivering while it runs, then Delivered, Delivery failed or Interrupted. Open the step to read what was recorded, and use Inspect call where the view offers inspection.
Not automatically. Files Oda creates with shell commands are not handed over by themselves. Ask Oda to deliver them, or open them from the workspace folder.
No. A delivery names files, not folders; a folder is refused with Cannot present <file.. Open the folder from the chat's workspace folder to reach the files inside.
A name opens the preview only when it matches exactly: the file's full path, or a file name that fits a single file in the turn. A name shared by several files, or one Oda did not deliver, stays plain text.
