When a reply carries numbers, DataMind Oda can draw them as a chart or a row of KPI cards inside the answer itself. A drawing renders in the chat and in a shared copy of the chat, and it stays live: you can switch it between the drawing, a table of the same data and its source.
This page covers both kinds of block, what Oda can draw, what the blocks do while a reply is still arriving, and the messages you may see. Diagrams are a separate drawing; see Diagrams in chat. Full pages Oda builds are on HTML artifacts in chat, and reading replies in general is on Reading Oda's answers.
The drawings use the same format the Minds use, so a visual from a Mind renders the same way in a chat. Where the numbers come from is on Company data and documents.
Each chart sits in its own block, with a Chart view switcher and, when the block has one, a title.
No rows.Point at the drawing for exact values. Point at or select a legend entry to highlight one series while the others dim. On a pie, the centre shows the total, and pointing at a slice shows its value and its share of the total. On a sankey, select a node to keep its flows highlighted and select it again to clear.
Chart colours come from your light or dark scheme and your company's palette, and a chart redraws when the scheme changes. Colours written inside the block are ignored, except a marker colour written as a hex value.
A KPI block shows a row of cards, each with a title, a value and a change line.
Drawing chart… or Preparing KPI cards… until its first drawing is ready. If some rows cannot be read, or the reply ends before the data is complete, Oda keeps every complete row it can and adds a note under the block. The note reads one of:
Showing the {kept} complete rows; {dropped} unreadable rows were left out.The data was cut off; showing the {kept} complete rows. Some rows could not be read; showing the {kept} readable rows.Rows that cannot be read are left out, never repaired. If too few complete rows remain (one for a bar, pie or radial bar chart, two for line, area and composed, and three for radar), the chart does not draw, and the block shows its message instead.
A problem stays inside its own block; the rest of the reply stays readable. The message names what went wrong:
This chart does not say which chart type to draw. The block did not name its type. The chart type “{type}” is not supported. The named type is not one Oda draws. This chart could not be read: its data is not valid. or This chart could not be read: the {fields} field is not valid. The data, or a named field, is not valid. This chart is missing a valid “{field}” field. A required field is missing. This chart was cut off before its data was complete. The reply ended before the whole block arrived. These KPI cards could not be read. A KPI block could not be read. The chart engine could not be loaded. Reload the window to retry. The drawing code did not load; reload the window, and the chart draws again. If a block still cannot be read, ask Oda to draw the visual again.
chart or kpi in the reply. Oda writes it for you, and you can read or copy it from the block./ / and / * */ comments, and separators such as 1_000.x, icon, label and a comment, and keeps a colour only as a hex value. A KPI card carries title, value and change.null where a point has no value.datamind-visuals skill carries the exact format, so you do not need to learn it to ask for a chart.Ask Oda to show the numbers as a chart, or as a row of KPI cards. Oda draws the visual in its reply from the data it used for the task, and it may add one of its own when numbers matter. The format matches the Minds, so a drawing from a Mind renders the same way.
A pie cannot show a negative value. When the data holds one, the same numbers are drawn as a bar chart instead; the labels and values stay the same.
Yes. Open Table with the Chart view switcher; it shows the same data as the drawing. A chart whose rows cannot be read reads No rows.
Yes. Choose Code to see the block's source, then Copy; the button confirms with Copied. When a visual cannot be drawn, its source stays in the block behind Show source.
Oda reads only complete lines while the reply arrives, so the drawing fills in as it is written. The last drawable version stays on screen, and nothing about a reading problem appears until the reply settles.
Part of the data arrived incomplete or could not be read, and Oda kept the complete rows it could. The note says how many rows are shown and how many were left out; ask Oda to draw the visual again if you need the full set.
The trend needs a change that starts with a signed number, such as +12% or -1.. Any other text shows no trend line.
The drawing code did not load, so the block could not draw. Reload the window to retry; the problem stays inside its block, and the rest of the reply stays readable.
The block carried no rows the table could read, so it reads No rows. Read the note under the block for what happened, and ask Oda to draw it again if you need the data.
Yes. Chart colours come from your light or dark scheme and your company's palette, and a chart redraws when the scheme changes. Colours written inside a block are ignored, except a marker colour written as a hex value.
