Browser tools let DataMind Oda open and work web pages itself: browsing, clicking, filling in forms and reading what is on the page. They stay off until you turn on Browser use, and the first turn-on asks you to accept its risks.
Browser use is one of Oda's advanced features: the powerful features that stay off until you turn one on and accept its risks. Open Settings > Developer > Advanced features, and:
Worth knowing:
Install Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge to use this feature. While a chat has a browser, Oda can:
Oda keeps the chat's browser across that chat's turns, so work on a page continues where it left off. This is separate from the browser you and Oda share in a chat's side panel, which is covered in Chat with Oda. For Oda working your whole desktop instead, see Computer use.
A browser serves one chat at a time.
Screenshots Oda takes arrive in the chat as images, so they are useful when your model can read images.
Pages Oda visits can carry hidden instructions aimed at it. Turn Browser use on only when you need it, and watch what Oda does.

Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge; the feature needs one of them installed. Oda opens Chrome when it is installed, and Edge otherwise.
Not by default. Oda opens its own window with a clean profile that has none of your tabs or sign-ins. In setups that connect Oda to a browser that is already open, Oda works with that browser's tabs and sign-ins instead.
No. A browser serves one chat at a time, and calls from other chats are refused while a chat holds it. When a chat is done with an already-open browser, the next chat can connect.
Nothing carries over. Reopening or forking a chat starts a fresh browser; the pages and sign-ins from before are gone.
Oda sets the browser up when a chat starts. If it cannot start, the chat does not start and Oda does not retry; if an already-open browser is busy, that chat carries on without it and does not try again later.
Yes. They arrive as images in the chat, so they work when your model can read images.
