Agent loop settings

The Agent loop card on the Plugins page holds one setting: Parallel tool calls, the upper bound on parallel-safe tool calls running at once within one step. Use it to set how much Oda does at the same time.

Open the Agent loop card

  1. Choose Plugins in the sidebar.
  2. In the Official group, select Agent loop.

As you work with it:

Change the parallel tool-call cap

  1. Type a number in Parallel tool calls. The field's hint reads Upper bound on parallel-safe calls running at once within one step.
  2. Choose Save. While the write runs, the card shows Saving….

Worth knowing:

What the cap does to a step, and how a running loop takes a saved value, are on Tools and how they are offered and The Oda agent runtime.

Questions, answered

Where do I set how many tool calls Oda runs at once?

On the Plugins page: choose Agent loop in the Official group and change Parallel tool calls.

What does the number limit?

It is the upper bound on parallel-safe tool calls running at once within one step. Which calls may run together is on Tools and how they are offered.

Do my edits save as I type?

No. The card stages what you type and writes only when you choose Save. Leaving the card drops the draft.

What happens if I leave the field empty?

The save writes a reset, and the default applies again.

How do I go back to the default value?

After you save a value that differs from the default, the field shows the Overridden badge. Choose Reset to default, then Save, to clear your value.

Why does the card say enter a number?

The field holds something that is not a number, so the save is blocked. Type a number, or leave the field blank and save to use the default.

The deployment did not accept my value. What now?

The save was refused and nothing was written; your draft was kept so you can correct it. Check the number and choose Save again.

Why is the field greyed out?

The deployment stores settings read-only, so the card disables the field and shows This deployment stores settings read-only. Nothing can be saved here; if the value must change, contact your administrator.

Why can't I find the Agent loop card?

The card appears only while this deployment runs the Agent loop plugin and Developer tools is on, a switch on Settings > Developer. If the plugin is not loaded, the card says This plugin is not loaded, so it cannot be configured right now.
