Workspaces and files

Choose the folders Oda works in, preview files in the side panel and open them in other apps.

• Add, rename or delete a workspace

  Add, choose, rename, reorder or remove workspaces, how chats join them in the sidebar, the access modes that apply inside a workspace, and where to review changed files.

• Choose a workspace folder

  Pick the folder a workspace or chat uses, with the system folder dialog or the in-app dialog, the Default workspace Oda prepares on first use, and what to do when picking fails.

• Open files and folders in other apps

  Open a chat's folder or a file in an app on your computer, open a file as text, reveal it in the file manager, and what each message means when a hand-off fails.

• The git branch under the message box

  See which branch or commit the chat's folder is on, right under the message box.

• Preview files in the side panel

  Browse the chat's folder, preview a file in the side panel, switch viewers, zoom it, and understand reading limits, refresh and failure states.
