A view's window has a Preview tab that loads the view's rows and a Dependants tab that lists the objects using the view. Use them to check what a view returns and who relies on it before you change or drop the view. The view window itself is described in Views.
Rows from the last good load stay on screen when a query fails, so you keep the rows you were reading while you fix the problem. Until the view has a saved record, the tab reads View Not Created with "Please save the view first to preview data"; save the view first.
The Preview tab works like the other Warehouse preview tabs: it loads on request, keeps the last good result and exports to a file. The shared behaviour is described in Preview table data.
Use Export data in the grid toolbar to save the preview rows to a file. The file is named after the view; if the window has no title, the name falls back to view_<id>.
The same Dependants tab appears on Dimension, Fact and Static tables; the shared rules are described in Dependencies and dependants.
The view has not been saved yet. Until the view has a saved record, Preview reads View Not Created with "Please save the view first to preview data", and Dependants shows the same title with "Please save the view first to view its dependants". Save the view's General step first; both tabs fill in after the first save.
Click Stop. It appears in the empty state while the first load runs, in the Query failed banner while a retry runs, and in the grid toolbar while a reload runs. Stopping cancels the load and is not treated as an error.
The file is named after the view. If the window has no title, the name falls back to view_<id>. Export from the grid toolbar with Export data.
Click the row. Warehouse objects open their windows, a Presentation opens its deck, a Semantic model opens its page, and a Reference opens the table it points at. Hover a row to reveal the pencil; its tooltip names the action, from Edit dimension to Open semantic model.
Click the Mind row. It opens the Mind's Sources when you can open the Mind's settings panel; when you cannot, it starts a new chat instead. The pencil starts a new chat either way, and the View mind sources shortcut appears only when you can open that panel.
It stands for objects outside your access, like "2 presentations you cannot access". Such rows are informational: they carry no names, are not links, and cannot be opened.
They name where in the deck the view is used, like slide 4 or slides 4, 7.
The dependants check could not be completed. The tab shows the warning Dependants could not be determined with the text "DataPrism dependants could not be determined because the check failed. Acting on the assumption that this table is unused may be unsafe." The failed check is not counted as a dependant, so the rows you see may be incomplete.
