Table popups in the Warehouse and the Lake share a few small elements: the tinted cards that summarise a table, the banner that asks for a primary key before a deploy, the empty state of the Dependencies step, and the ring highlight that points you at a table's permission groups. This page is the quick reference for those pieces; each task page explains its flow in full.
A metric card is a small tinted card holding a label and a value. It appears in these places:
While a value loads, its card shows a shimmering placeholder in place of the number; the figure replaces it when it arrives. The tint follows the card's position in its strip, so the same figure can carry a different colour on another table, and the colour itself carries no meaning.
Under a card's value, two smaller lines can appear:
Most cards show just the main value; the extra lines appear only on the cards described above.
A table cannot deploy without a primary key column, so some popups show a one-line banner that points at the fix instead of offering a deploy that would be refused.
The banner offers Go to Columns:
The action hides while you are already on the Columns step, because there is nothing left for it to point at. The messages and their fixes are also collected in Warehouse troubleshooting and Lake troubleshooting.
The Dependencies step of a View or Transformation popup holds the tables the item reads. Until you choose some, the step reads No dependencies selected, explains what to do, and offers Manage Dependencies:
A view's hint reads "Choose tables your view depends on to give it the right upstream context."; a transformation's reads the same sentence with "transformation" in place of "view". Once dependencies exist, the step lists them and offers Manage in the same place, opening the same window.
When a Warehouse Builder chat's access check sends you to a table, the popup opens on the General step and the Permission Groups field lights up with a ring for about a second and a half. The field also scrolls into view, so you land where the role has to be added.
In the statistics section of View, Dictionary, Static and Dimension and Fact table popups (Size, Rows, Partitions), in a staging table's Storage section (the same three cards), on a Transformation's Latest Run card (Log ID, Rows, Duration), and in a semantic source's header (Systems, Tables, Transformations).
They break the figure down by where the data sits. Temp counts the table's temporary data, shown on Dimension and Fact statistics and on staging storage while such data exists. Landing counts the data in the landing area, shown on staging storage only and only for a table whose data source keeps a landing area. A card without these lines has nothing extra to show.
The tint follows the card's position in its strip, not the figure or the table. It is there to tell cards apart while you scan them; the colour carries no meaning.
The value is still loading. The card shows a shimmering bar in the number's place and swaps in the figure when it arrives.
It moves the popup to the Columns step, where you mark one column as the primary key. The action hides while you are already on Columns, and the banner clears once the key is saved.
You are already on the Columns step, so the action has nothing to point at. Mark the key in the grid and save; the banner then clears.
Click Manage Dependencies on the empty Dependencies step to open the Manage Dependencies window and pick the tables the item depends on, then close it with Cancel or Done. Once dependencies exist, the same window opens from Manage.
It is the popup pointing you at the field the access check sent you to: open a table with Open permissions on a Grant role access card, and the General step opens with Permission Groups ring-highlighted so you can add the role there. It is a pointer, not a warning: nothing is wrong with the table.
About a second and a half; it clears itself, so there is nothing to dismiss. If reduced motion is set on your device, the ring appears without animating.
