Use the Edit Mind form to change an existing Mind, and Duplicate to make a copy with its settings, tables and training cards. To create a new Mind instead, see Create a Mind.
The form fills with the Mind's current values and shows Loading mind until it is ready. For a Warehouse Builder or Lake Builder, the same gear opens the Mind's Settings tab instead; the form is for analytical Minds. See Warehouse Builder and Lake Builder.
The form groups the Mind's fields on four tabs:
The Duplicate button appears when you may edit Minds and one is selected. It sits in the Minds sidebar header, and each row in the Minds list also offers Duplicate. The permissions behind it are listed in Who can do what with Minds.
If you pick a different Owner Role, the form warns: The selected owner role differs from the original mind's owner role (role name). You may not have permission to access some of the data sources and information configured in this mind. The warning appears only when the role actually changed, never for the admin role and never on builder Minds.
| What | In the copy |
|---|---|
| Settings, description, tags, colour and icon | Yes |
| Query identity, Permission Groups and responsible person | Yes |
| AI settings | Yes |
| Linked tables | Yes |
| Training cards | Only with Copy training cards on |
| Chats | Never |
A builder Mind duplicates only as the same kind: a Lake Builder only as a Lake Builder, and a Warehouse Builder only as a Warehouse Builder.
More messages and their fixes are listed in Minds troubleshooting.
Open Minds in the left navigation, select the Mind, and click the Settings gear on the Mind card at the top of the page. For a builder Mind, the gear opens the Settings tab instead.
The form is for analytical Minds. A Warehouse Builder or Lake Builder opens its Settings tab from the same gear. See Warehouse Builder and Lake Builder.
Update turns on only when something in the form has changed, and it stays off while the form saves. If you change a field and then change it back, the button stays off, because the form sees no difference.
The Mind has no data sources yet, so the form draws your eye to Sources. Use Add Sources to attach tables; see Link data to a Mind.
Language sets the language a chat with this Mind uses by default. It starts as English, and each option in the list shows its flag. The field reads Select a language until you choose one.
A Mind's owner role cannot be changed after the Mind is created, so the form shows it for reference only. To give a Mind a different owner role, duplicate it and pick that role in the copy.
It starts as the original name with (Copy) added. If that name is taken, the form uses the next free number, such as (Copy 2), and repeated copies do not stack up several (Copy) markers. You can edit the name before you duplicate; it allows up to 60 characters and shows a counter.
No. The copy starts with no chats.
If you pick a different Owner Role, the form warns that you may not have access to some of the original's data sources and information: The selected owner role differs from the original mind's owner role (role name). You may not have permission to access some of the data sources and information configured in this mind. The warning appears only when the role actually changed, and never on builder Minds.
Yes, and the copy stays the same kind: a Lake Builder only as a Lake Builder, a Warehouse Builder only as a Warehouse Builder. The Owner Role list is replaced by a note.
