The XML connector

The XML connector is not enabled on this platform. Its card is listed in the picker and shows Soon, and its connection form does not open, so an XML source cannot be created.

For CSV, TSV, JSON, Parquet or Excel files, use Load files instead. For what the Soon mark means on any card, see Supported connectors.

Questions, answered

What happens if I click the XML card?

Nothing opens. A card that is not enabled cannot be opened, so its connection form never appears.

Can I load XML files into the Lake another way?

There is no XML connection form to open. If your files are CSV, TSV, JSON, Parquet or Excel, load them through Load files.

Is this a permissions issue?

No. The XML connector is not enabled on this platform; it is not about your role. See Who can do what in the Lake for what the Lake's permissions do cover.

Which files can I load instead?

CSV, TSV, JSON, Parquet and Excel Workbook files load through Load files. Excel workbooks also have their own form: Connect Excel.

Why does XML appear in the picker but not in the New menu?

A card marked Soon is listed in the picker but is not enabled. The New menu leaves out source types that are not enabled, so XML does not appear there.

I need XML data. What are my options?

An XML source cannot be created while the connector is not enabled. If the system behind the files also exposes a REST, OData or GraphQL API, Connect any API can read it; for anything custom, Connect Anything (custom connector) builds a connector from a template.
