Follow a workflow run in chat
When DataMind Oda fans work out across many helper agents, the run appears in the chat as a card of its own. The card follows the work from the run's header down to its phases and its members, so you can watch the work as it goes, open a member that is working, or jump to the run's row in Activity. See Workflows for what a workflow is and when Oda starts one.
Watch the run card
- The run appears as a card titled with the run's name. A run that has no name shows Workflow.
- The card follows the run from the top down: the run's header, then one group per phase, then a row for every member. Members gather under their phase.
- The run's header counts the run's members and carries the run's state: a small dot and a status label.
- A member row shows the member's name, its status and a dot of its own. A member without a name shows Empty member name.
- The card counts how many of the run's agents have settled, out of the total, in forms such as
1/2 agents.
- While a run works, the card stays open and follows along: a phase seen for the first time starts expanded, and a member's row joins as the member starts.
- A run that ended badly (failed, cancelled or interrupted) stays open; only a normal completion folds itself once.
- You fold and unfold any part of the card yourself: click its header, or press Space or Enter while the header has focus. A completion fold waits while your focus is inside the card; it happens once focus moves away.
- When the same run becomes active again, the card opens again.
- A run with no phases shows a short empty-state line.
- A run that started no members keeps its own card and reads by the run's status.
- A Ralph loop is followed the same way: its run is titled Ralph loop with Round 1.
Read the run's status
- The run's status reads
running, completed, failed, cancelled or interrupted.
- The dot beside it reads
ongoing while the run works, done when it completed, error when it failed, and warning when it was cancelled or interrupted.
- A member's row carries its own status, reading
failed or cancelled when its work ends that way.
- A run that never recorded its ending reads as
interrupted once its chat closes.
Open a running member's chat
Only a member that is running now can be opened. Press the button on its row, and that member's chat opens so you can read what it did (Subagents). A member that has settled keeps a plain row, with no button.
Jump to the run in Activity
Press Open in Activity to reach the run's row in the Activity tab of the side panel, where you can follow the run further (Workflow runs in Activity). The button appears only while the Activity panel is loaded.
Questions, answered
What do the dots beside a run and its members mean?
ongoing while the work runs, done when it completed, error when it failed, and warning when it was cancelled or interrupted.
Why does a run read interrupted?
The run never recorded its ending, so once its chat closes the card reads interrupted.
Can I open a member whose work has finished?
No. Only a member that is running now can be opened; a member that has settled keeps a plain row, with no button.
What happens when a run starts no members?
The run keeps its own card and reads by the run's status.
Can I fold a run card myself?
Yes. Click a header, the run's or a phase's, or press Space or Enter while it has focus, to fold or unfold that part.
Why did a folded run open again?
Activity on that run started again. When the same run becomes active once more, its card opens itself.
