Creator mode is where you extend DataMind Oda itself by conversation: Oda can write a plugin that adds a feature or a UI to DataMind, or combine tools and prompts to create your own mode.
The mode's description in the picker reads: Customize DataMind through conversation. Let the agent write plugins that add features or UI, or combine tools and prompts to create your own mode.
The mode's guide spells out the two things Oda builds:
Creator mode comes with DataMind Oda. Agent modes introduces the modes you can choose, and Choose a mode for a new task covers the picker and the default for new tasks.
While the mode picker is off, the row is disabled and explains: Turn on mode selection for new tasks to start Creator mode.
Each of the five modes that come with DataMind Oda has a short guide. Open Settings > Agent presets and use the menu on the Creator mode card (Actions for Creator mode). Mode details explains how the mode works; How to use shows example tasks, each tagged Example task with a Copy button. Opening the guide changes nothing about your chats.
A mode is an agent preset, and you can build one without a conversation. Open Settings > Agent presets, click New preset, and set the name, description, model, instructions, capabilities and skills. Create and edit agent presets covers the editor.
Two things: a plugin that adds capabilities to DataMind, such as a tool, a service connection, or a UI entry, or a mode, which is an agent preset that selects tools and defines how the agent works in a task. You describe what you want in the chat, and Oda builds it there.
Open Settings > Agent presets and click Let the agent help me create a preset under Custom. Settings closes and a new chat starts in Creator mode; describe what you want to build, and Oda works on it there.
The mode picker is off. While Choose a mode for new tasks is off in Settings > Agent presets, a new task cannot choose a mode, so the row cannot start one; its explanation reads Turn on mode selection for new tasks to start Creator mode. Turn the setting on, then click the row again.
Not always. A plugin may load immediately or need a restart before it takes effect.
It can. Oda can install a plugin it builds as a persistent bundle, so it becomes part of the DataMind Oda installation rather than something that lives only in one chat (Inspect and manage extensions). Not everything works that way: a dynamic package runs inside one chat only (Dynamic packages).
Open it from the Creator mode card in Settings > Agent presets: Mode details explains how the mode works, and How to use has example tasks with a Copy button. Opening the guide changes nothing about your chats.
Yes. A mode is an agent preset, and you can create one by hand in Settings > Agent presets: set its name, description, model, instructions, capabilities and skills, and save. Create and edit agent presets covers the editor.
